Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Stanislav Brabec (sbrabec) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: patch to prevent sound blocking Initial Comment: Patch from Ximian bugzilla. It is not clean solution, but at least some GNOME users will be happy with it. Patch author: Joe Shaw Comment: Kind of a nasty quick-fix hack, but it should do the trick. Opened by Magnus Boman on 2004-08-09 18:15 Long Description Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: If I am using Rhythmbox 0.8.3 to play my MP3's all sound from GAIM (0.80-2.2) seems to queue up until I quit Rhytmbox, after which the sounds from GAIM is played (quite annonying if you have been chatting for a long time). If it's not belived to be related, let me know and I file a new bug for it. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Start GAIM and Rhytmbox 2. Start playing your songs in Rhytmbox and start chatting on GAIM 3. Quit Rhytmbox Actual Results: All sounds that have been queued from GAIM while Rhytmbox was playing are played Expected Results: To either supress the sounds all together or to play them even if Rhytmbox is playing ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1218288&group_id=235 |

New Person dialog for both Add Buddy and Evolution Integration can be improved in future to be able to get name, e-mail and maybe other information from Groupwise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Stanislav Brabec (sbrabec) Date: 2005-06-10 14:17 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=616997 The patch only adds Groupwise to known protocols to gevolution plugin. It does not fill name and e-mail while adding buddy to addressbook. Groupwise explicitly provides this information (see nmuserrecord.c). For other protocols it can be done, too, but with some limitations. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2005-06-10 13:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 how does this differ from the gevolution plugin? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1218079&group_id=235 |

I did most of the reverse engineering with PalTalk 5.x about a year ago, and finally got around to writing a prpl for it. I have updated it to be compatible with the new PalTalk 8.x clients [there were some protocol changes in between]. I'm planning to port this up to head once it becomes a bit more stable. I have tested this with gaim 1.3.0 stable and oldstatus. The attached file contains a diff against this evening's oldstatus (6/9), and the additional files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1217958&group_id=235 |

Category: newfeature Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: bsd (bsd3) Assigned to: Ethan Blanton (eblanton) Summary: TCL gaim::account password account Initial Comment: Though may not be that big and, or important a thing, but it would useful to make the password for IRC and, or other accounts available to scripts. So that TCL scripts may make use of passwords stored in $HOME/.gaim/accounts.xml and silently send password to NickServ etc. whenever required. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Ethan Blanton (eblanton) Date: 2005-06-08 22:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=298616 Hmm, I thought I replied to a similar comment once before. The IRC account password, specifically, is completely unrelated to any NickServ password you might have. You should use a different preference for a nickserv password. The IRC account password refers to an optional password for the PASS command, which some servers require. With this in mind, I think exposing account passwords to scripts is not a good idea. You may wish to create your own password preference, using the gaim::prefs command. (I am not closing this patch just yet, this is still open for discussion.) Same thing happens with " (20:51:33) rlaager: datallah: Does the tag offset need to be changed in direction or another? (20:52:02) rlaager: Probably by something like strlen(who_escaped) - strlen(who) ?? (20:52:07) Daniel Atallah (datallah): rlaager: i'm guessing the strlen() needs to be replaced with something more intelligent ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1217334&group_id=235 |

This patch adds a new option `No grouping of buddies' in Preferences -> Buddy List. -- Adil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Date: 2005-06-08 20:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1132702 I have attached a patch against HEAD as well. -- Adil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Date: 2005-05-15 02:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1132702 Just to make sure there's no confusion, this only changes how the buddy-list is displayed. But the actual groupings are saved, in case anyone wants to enable buddy-list grouping later. -- Adil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1202077&group_id=235 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Modify Account: Move `Show more options' onto another tab Initial Comment: Hello. In the Account-Modify dialog, the `Show more options' often falls below the screen. I remember seanegan asking someone (I don't remember whom) to put that part onto another tab a couple of months back in #gaim. Here's the patch since it's still not fixed. (The patch is made against `Gaim v1.3.1cvs') -- Sadrul Habib Chowdhury ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Date: 2005-06-07 20:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1132702 I have made a patch against HEAD. -- Adil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Date: 2005-06-06 14:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1132702 I have made some changes to increase the spacings. The screenshots have been updated accordingly. I am going to take a look at HEAD to see if any changes need to be made there. -- Adil ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Date: 2005-06-06 08:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20979 From the screenshots, it looks like some of the text and input widgets might be a little too close to the edge of the window. Do you think you have time to make changes to your patch so that the widgets are correct spaced according the the Gnome Human Interface Guidelines? You could probably use other parts of Gaim as a reference. Especially the preferences pages. Also, I think I would rather see this patch done against CVS HEAD. It might apply cleanly without any changes--I'm not sure how much the account stuff has changed between the oldstatus branch and HEAD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sadrul H C (sadrul) Date: 2005-05-30 21:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1132702 For anyone craving for a screenshot of the change: http://adil.dotgeek.org/gaim/gaim_act_mod_tab1.png http://adil.dotgeek.org/gaim/gaim_act_mod_tab2.png -- Sadrul Habib Chowdhury ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=1211365&group_id=235 |
