Greetings all -- I admin a phpwiki 1.3.7 installation that I'm not in a position to upgrade easily. The spambots have defiled the place to the point that all pages have to be locked. I want to require a login to edit pages to prevent these dumb attacks. After a good bit of time spent on rtfm, I found a variable in config/config-dist.php to REQUIRE_SIGNIN_BEFORE_EDIT which I changed to true and uploaded the edited file. Anonymous users still can edit pages. Do I need to do anything else to make this setting active? Reviewing the archive for this list, I found some references to the problem but no helpful responses -- only a reference to some 'debian' support forum. A more complete reply with a link to the correct information would make a nice addition to the archives and allow others with this question to follow up on their own. Thanks for any (polite) suggestions anyone may be willing to offer. |

I tried it but it did'nt wok <?plugin IncludePages pages=<!plugin RandomPage numpages=5 !> lines=10 ?> we do also need a feature to add sections from Pages where as example the word "picture" is part of the title Mybe the pagename is like that aaa/bbb/picture cccc/oooo/picture And every of these pages do have a section called "Photo" Would be very very helpful to can merge this sections on one page with a plugin like <?plugin IncludePage page=<?!plugin TitleSearch s='Picture' noheader=true !> quiet=1 section="Photo" sectionhead=0?> Can we make it possible? Whould be really really helpfull for us Stefan Reini Urban schrieb: >2006/2/3, Comit <sa...@us...>: > > >>Hi everyone. Reini, Any luck with the " lib\pdf.php:163: Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent" problem using html2pdf? I've looked at pdf.php, and I'm afraid I just don't know enough php to figure this one out ;-) Thanks, John Cole ------------------------------------- This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. Would be a great feature ... I'am also looking for a way to add the the x-th paragraph (textblock) from pages having one special phrase (word) in the headline. Example Headlines: aaaa/sssss/NAME vvvvv/NAME uuuu/nnnnnn/NAME from all the pages containing NAME within the title i nedd a section with title PICTURE. Is it possible to make this with existing plugins? This feature would make our work so much easier. Stefan section Reini Urban schrieb: >2006/2/3, Comit <sa...@us...>: > > >>Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay. I'll try to reword the question in phpwiki terms. We have RandomPage plugin which lists a list of up to random 10 pagenames. You want to present the content of the the first paragraph of 4-6 random pa= ges? That would be possible with the <!plugin RandomPage numpages=3D5 !> syntax as page argument to IncludePages. Untested: <?plugin IncludePages pages=3D<!plugin RandomPage numpages=3D5 !> lines=3D1= 0 ?> Including the first paragraph is only possible if you know the exact name of the heading. I'll probably add support to use the x-th paragraph (textblock) or section (all blocks in this heading). -- Reini Urban http://phpwiki.org/ http://spacemovie.mur.at/ http://helsinki.at/ |

Hi everyone. First time poster, long time pmwiki user. I wanted to set up a 'Did you know' to the front page of the wiki. I tried using the randomquote mods but that only lets you do one per page. I'd like to have about 4-6, similar to what mediawiki pages do. Any idea how to go about setting this up? - Com |

Hello, I found http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=13709988 which is the same problem I'm having. It didn't help me though. I checked config.ini 3 times allready and entered everywhere /tmppages instead of /tmp: DEFAULT_DUMP_DIR = /tmppages/wikidump HTML_DUMP_DIR = /tmppages/wikidumphtml DATABASE_DIRECTORY = /tmppages TEMP_DIR = /tmppages I also created /tmp and /tmppages in the starting directory where also the index.php etc are. They are changed to the same owner as my ftp-account and all other files in that directory. I gave them permission 777 to make sure that can't be the problem. But still I get error message: Fatal Error: lib/FileFinder.php:191: Error: /tmp: file not found lib/FileFinder.php:191: Error: /tmp: file not found I also don't understand why it says /tmp when I called every /tmp file in config.ini tmppages. In the install file there is mentioned: The first time you run this Wiki it will load a set of basic pages from the 'pgsrc/' directory. These should be enough to get your Wiki started. PhpWiki will create some DBA files in '/tmp'. They contain the pages of the live site, archived pages, and some additional information. If you don't want the DBA files to live in '/tmp' you must make sure the web server can read/write to your chosen location. It's probably a bad idea to leave it in '/tmp', so change it in 'config/config.ini'. When I go to my website, I get the error message above and no files are created in /tmp or /tmppages I also set it up using mysql instead of dba. Could this be the cause? If you need any additional information, please let me know. Can anyone please tell me what could be the cause of that error message and which things I should check in config.ini? After having the previously mentioned problems installing PHPWiki using apt-get on my Kubuntu box, I've downloaded the phpwiki-1.3.11p1 tarball and unpacked it into /usr/share. I've amended the installation paths in config.ini to reflect the installation. For phpwiki to appear in my /var/www directory, I needed to make a soft link to the /usr/share/phpwiki directory (but had the uneasy feeling that I shouldn't have needed to!). If I now click on the phpwiki link in /var/www, I get 'Loading up virgin wiki' page, with lots of messages, until it gets to: InterWikiMap Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in /usr/share/phpwiki-1.3.11p1/lib/PageType.php on line 342 Obviously I've still not got it right - and would be grateful for any advice, please! Also, whilst I've got (and use) Mysql, I'm tempted to use Sqlite. Is Sqlite built into the phpwiki package - I've had a look, but it's not obvious? Jim Ford |

I'm guessing that you're still using the PHPwiki 1.3.7 package that is in Ubuntu which does not integrate with apache2 automatically. If so you have two options: - Use the PHPwiki 1.3.11p1 package as per my previous email - Manually link the PHPwiki package into apache2, to do this: symlink /etc/phpwiki/apache.conf to /etc/apache2/conf.d/phpwiki.conf or simply Include /etc/phpwiki/apache.conf from the configuration of the vhost that you want PHPwiki to appear under. Does this make sense? If you're still having problems, can you please supply more details: - phpwiki package version (dpkg -s phpwiki) - Apache version (I'm assuming apache2 from above) - Contents of /etc/phpwiki/apache.conf - Do the /etc/apache/conf.d/phpwiki.conf or /etc/apache2/conf.d/phpwiki.conf symlinks exist. Dropping crap in /var/www is a Bad Idea. Instead, phpwiki uses Alias to take requests for the specified path and redirect it to the files in /usr/share/phpwiki. - Matt |

The Debian PHPwiki package (which Ubuntu uses pretty much unmodified) sets up PHPwiki to be visible at http://your-site/phpwiki/ by default. As you install the package you should be asked a debconf question to give you the opportunity to change this. I've not heard of adept before, but if you're not getting asked this question blame adept. I've now found how to purge a package 'dpkg --purge phpwiki' which gets rid of all the config files. I've tried reinstalling, but whatever I put in the installation path: /phpwiki (the default) /apache2-default/phpwiki (my site) /var/www/apache2-default (absolute path) It never appears as a link or otherwise in /var/www/apache2-default. It always ends up in /usr/share/phpwiki BTW adept seems to be a graphical front-end to apt-get Jim Ford |

Thanks for the reply Matt When I installed phpwiki I just accepted the default for the installation directory, and it ended up in /usr/share/. I've tried making a soft link to /var/www/ but it didn't work - I got the following error: lib/main.php:20: Fatal[2048]: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, hoping to get the package installation prompts again, but apt-get seems to remember where it was previously installed. Any idea how I can make apt-get completely forget the previous installation so I can start again? Jim Ford |

Depending on what version of Kubuntu you are using there may be an old version of PHPwikiin the package archive. I would suggest using the 1.3.11p1 package either from Dapper, Debian Unstable or http://www.mattb.net.nz/debian/ Hope that helps. Cheers -- Matt Brown ma...@ma... Some time ago I installed phpwiki on a Slack box, and after a bit of fiddling, got it working OK. I'm now trying to install it on a new Kubuntu/Debian system via 'Adept'. All seemed to go OK - the files got installed, but I can't get it working. I presume that I should be able to just point a browser at /usr/share/phpwiki for it to start up, but all I get is the directory! I suspect that this is an apache2/php issue, as the index.php isn't being interpreted by apache. The README.Debian file that came with the package states that it should 'work out of the box' - mine must have come in a different box! Advice, pointers to HOWTOs welcome. Jim Ford |

Hello, I started using phpwiki a long while ago, and I am trying to finally upgrade from the 1.2 series to 1.3. So far I've managed to get 1.3.11 up and running, and I managed to dump the pages from 1.2 and load them into 1.3 so in total things are running smooth. Sadly there is one hitch thats keeping me from taking down the 1.2 wiki, and replacing it with 1.3. In the past I had been using HTTP Auth to authenticate my users, but that meant that anyone that wanted to edit the wiki had to go through me, and I had to add an account for them. Its really become quite a pain. So to make life a little easier for all involved I want to change how things are operated. So to that end I have created this list of goals. 1. Allow users to create their own account. 2. Require users to use a password. 3. Allow anonymous viewing. 4. Require Authenticated Editing. From what I have read so far it seems like this should be possible, but I haven't quite yet hit on the right combination of settings to make this work. Does anyone have advice for me, or is anyone willing to show me how to do it. Where the user information is stored isn't an issue, although I would prefer PersonalPage or SQL DB. I'm perfectly capable of creating a sign-up page that inserts records into the user table, and doing it that way, but I'd rather not if there is a better way. Thanks, -Will |

Hello, > > Calendar.php - weeknumber hack, hopefully useful > Will be integrated optionally, > with a new config.ini option. Why not as an option to to the <?plugin Calendar?> cmd ? Also, consider this: I have |< <?plugin Calendar?> |< <?plugin CalendarList next_n_days='40'?> | This displays the events of the next 40 days. Suppose today is the 27.01. Now the Calendar display 01.01-31.01 and the CalendarList displays the 27.01.- (+40 days) Okay. Now I click the "next month". Now the calendar displays 01.02-31.02. but the CalendarList shows 27.02.- (+40 days), which is VERY misleading. (try it out and look at the screen) In other words, if "calendar_date > today," display calendar list from 01. - 31. of calendar_month, not todays_day_in_month of calendar_month. kind regards, Cheers, Tom. |

I tried to make the patch so that both the old way (rename admin interface with list) and new way (rename button on a page) would work. I'm not 100% sure the old way works because I didn't understand all the regexp stuff, and I couldn't test it on our wiki. Dan |

wikilens.org has too many pages to be able to display on the admin page for renaming (it just errors out, even with 32M of memory). Thus, I added a "rename" button to an individual page for admin. I attach the patch just to be friendly in hopes you can use it. Unfortunately, this is from our forked 1.3.9, so it may have drifted out of sync. Eventually, I'd like to a) be able to pass out admin privs to multiple users to rename, b) allow everyone to rename in a non-destructive way (a la Wikipedia). These are in the distant future for me, tho. Dan |
