[Phpwebsite-developers] rc2 or stable? you decide

Greetings,

I have been working on some bugs to try to get phpwebsite ready for a
0.9.1 stable release. However, some significant changes were made in
pagemaster and menu manager.

People testing on campus were able to do some things that we never thought
of (create blank links, delete the page while leaving the menu link, I
could go on). So I did some things to try to prevent breakage.

What I really need is testing on PageMaster and Menu. Please, please test
making pages, assigning them to the menu, deleting pages, deleting menu
links, making offsite menu links, basically anything and everything you
would do in each program.

If I hear that all is well from a significant portion of developers, we
can head towards 0.9.1 stable. Until that time however, I will expect to
be putting out RC2 instead. That might be the thing to do anyway...

When I tried this with Mozilla 1.3 it worked fine, but with IE 6 the
javascript popup window does not even open.  I tried it with every theme.

I used to be a postgres junkie so I'll regress and try to help out as well 
when I can find some free time.

However I think we should go ahead with 0.9.1 without this for now, unless

Ok, finally got around to trying it again.  I downloaded the cvs tarball last
night and installed it.  I got further this time, it created the config file,
and prompted me to create the admin user.  At the module install screen, I
select all and click install button.  The next screen gives me:

Click the id number. You should get a view of both.

What I submitted was just an example. You could format what you wanted to
send to the theme any way you wanted.

And if the person making the layout wanted anything in a special way, they
could save the include file with just the information they want.

I prefer to handle any additions options in this manner.

Follow-up:

Perhaps the theme forgot to include the EDIT tag.  If you are using the 
php_net theme I believe this was the case.  Get the new version from CVS.  
Otherwise the "Default" theme should be safe.

Hello everybody 

I do not think that the date and time tags in the template should be done in 
the suggested way, because different countries, have different ways in 
presenting the date. And there is alse the problem about showing the 24 hour 
clock or the 12 our clock, and what if the person making the layout, want a 
special way. 

The way I have done it, was taking all the different date possibilities in 
the php date function, and put them in the Layout class file like this:

Oh.  I overlooked the fact the the displayTheme would include an "extra" 
file which I have total control over.  I thought displayTheme was defining 
those $template[] vars.

Depends on how they programmed it. It could be a function in their
included file, a function they know exists in one of the classes, etc.

The template would be passed to the theme and all the admin would need to
do is create the appropiate {DATE} {RANDOM_PIC} tags.

That way, the class would never have to change, people could create quick
and dirty php scripts to print in on their site.
