you can use the htmlCleaner class from www.phpclasses.org  :

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and already implemented HtmlArea in a 
test environment.
Looks good and yes, you are right, this is a far better solution than 
messing around with the Word files.

Trying to convert word files into nice HTML isnt going to be easy, I think.
You'll either get a huge jumbled mess of HTML code and style sheets to
exactly duplicate the look; or something much simplied but doesnt look
exactly the same which will likely confuse and anoy the user who expects it
to work and look exactly the same...

Dear all,

End users of my phpslash environment expressed the need for an easy method 
of marking up their postings. They don't see it as particularly 
user-friendly doing the html markup to the articles by hand. They can 
handle <b> <i> and <u> tags, but it is too complex already when they need a 
bulleted list or a link. They also want an easy way of adding graphics to 
their articles.

Since most end-users are familiar with MSWord and use this little program 
on their desktops, it could be a nice solution to let them do the editing 
in Word. Conversion software should be able to pick up the edited file and 
convert it to proper HTML, graphics included.

I'd like to know if anyone knows (opensource) conversion programs that can 
do this job properly.
I checked wvWare, which does a reasonable job. Unfortunately, it doesn't 
seem to handle the graphics in the file in a correct way.

All suggestions are welcome.

I believe this is corrected in cvs now.  The recursive call to 
clean() was overwriting the variable instead of saving to an array 
element - or in other words a typo.

A couple of quick questions:

Is adminurl still commented out in config.ini.php?  I suggest 
leaving it commented.

Are the admin scripts in the admin directory?

What is the exact error message?

How did you change the password?  via the profile page or author 
admin?

I just finished installing 0.7.2 and I'm running into a small problem. The
homepage comes up. I changed god's password. I accessed the admin page.
Everything is good so far. But whenever I try to open a link in the menu
bar, I get a page cannot be displayed error.

I'm guessing it's either in the config.php file which gets included by all
the files or in the "!is_object($sess)" line. I checked the mailing list 
and I didn't find anything relevant. Is this a known issue? Any advice on
troubleshooting this?

[phpslash-users] PHPslash and PHP version

Hi All,

According to the requirements list of PSL I need to run on php 4.1.x as a 
minimum.
However, I have a production environment still running 4.0.4pl1. Upgrading 
is no option, unfortunately

I noticed that the PSL code contains specific php4.1 function 
'array_key_exists()', which is not supported by 4.0.x
I guess I can do a back port of the function mentioned, but I'd like to 
know if it is worth the effort.
Is there anything else I have to deal with?

The version I use says 1.147 in the header of functions.inc and contains 
the code as shown in the cvsdiff for 1.141.
Obviously, the new code does not change the behaviour.

I can fix the problem in the database manually, but I guess it should be 
fixed in the code somehow.

The result is an inconsistent set of records, causing weird behaviour of

I don't think anybody is working on this. In my case, my server is always in 
UTC (GMT +0:00) and when I get emails, my email client calculates the right 
time for my zone for me. Thus, I don't see a need from my end.

Now, for those who have their servers with different timezones than UTC, 
then they probably should hack a bit the MailingList class and submit a 
patch so that we can test/commit this.

Remember that the crontab uses the mailing list class functions directly 
now. So, there is no need to change the cron script anymore.

Make sure that your socket is defined correctly in the /etc/my.cnf file (or 
/etc/mysql/my.cnf ). Look under [client] and [mysqld] for a line like:
socket          = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock

Then make sure that your php.ini file says something like:
mysql.default_socket = /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock

Thanks for reporting that. It has been fix in CVS already. Get the latest 
stable version from here:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/phpslash/phpslash-ft/class/locale/es.php3?rev=1.4

Just replace your old "es.php" file with the one from that link. (Or just 
add a comma at about line 325).

I don't think there are any Italian mirrors, feel free to start one and
we'd be happy to list your site on phpslash.org.  I'm not sure we can do a
full it.phpslash.org DNS + mirror very easily.

I'm also forwarding your message to the phpslash-users list, if you're not
already a member, please sign on up!  I'm pretty sure there are some
Italian speakers there who'd be happy to help with your translation
effort.  Please feel free to ask questions or send in your translation as
a patch at the SF project page and we'd be happy to merge in your changes.
