That's a very very interesting script. I'll take a better look at it this weekend and add it to php icalendar's next version (0.9.5). Hello all, Great work on the PHP iCalendar. Really slick interface. I wrote an extension that allows publishing of calendars from iCal to PHP iCalendar. Just drop the script in your calendars dir, modify permissions and you're publishing. Features: - publishing - deletion (unpublishing) - some logging capability for troubleshooting The script is available here: http://dietrich.ganx4.com/calendar/publish.php.gz Installation and usage notes are in the script. Would you be interested in adding it to PHP iCalendar? Also, is there any work being done to support todo items and alerts? -dietrich |

Hi First : Your Program is great! I'm using it for publishing a Calendar=20 of our Multmedia Auditorium and all People like it! Now i have a big=20 Problem with Mac OS 10.3. Apple has altered the Format of the=20 calendars, and if i make an entrance of a continuous date, i get only=20 the first event shown in phpicalendar. I figured out, that in the old=20 Version of ical there is a command BYDAY=3D which is not present in the=20= Panther Version 1.5.1. If i add this to the Line as shown below,=20 phpicalendar will display all the dates BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=3DEurope/Berlin:20031017T130000 DTEND;TZID=3DEurope/Berlin:20031017T140000 SUMMARY:MTPM Steimann KBS UID:CD63136F-0E11-11D8-95A6-000A95A0BB50 SEQUENCE:8 DTSTAMP:20031103T152659Z RRULE:FREQ=3DWEEKLY;INTERVAL=3D1;UNTIL=3D20040207T225959Z;BYDAY=3DFR END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR This are all entries ical 1.5.1 does (manual added the BYDAY=3DFR to get=20= phpicalendar to show all the dates). Apple changed more than that, for instance when i first altered an=20 entry, phpicalendar showed a calendar whith lots of missing entries,=20 some entries were only the date with nothing more. This was caused as=20 far as i suggest because i already had ical open, when i transferred=20 the calendars via sftp to the Web Server. After closing ical and doing=20= the tranfer again, everything was ok. Before i could transfer with ical=20= open, i think the old ical processed like a db, the new saves the data=20= at closing time to disk. Maybe there are more incompatibilities, so what to do to get it running=20= again? Can you help? As Chad mentioned in response to bug 831142, if the DURATION tag comes before the DTSTART tag, it is not handled properly. I have submitted a patch on Sourceforge to fix this. It moves the calculation of the end time from when the DURATION tag is found to the handling of the END:VEVENT tag where we know we will have a start time. Would you prefer patches for the other fixes I have suggested, or are the changes I suggested within the bug reports good enough? Rob Prouse |

The current code produces a bunch of "Undefined variable" warnings when putting an array of VTODO details on the $master_array because some variables are not set. In END:VEVENT a few lines are used to check for unset variables and to set them to '' if they are not defined. Would it make sense to do the same for END:VTODO and avoid these PHP warnings? Or maybe there some other part to the logic that I am missing? -- Wesley Miaw, Wesley Miaw Consulting http://www.wesman.net/ |

We're happy to have the help. Basically we don't just give out CVS access on SourceForge. We prefer to get you know you and your code a bit first. The best way to do this is to submit a few patches. Patches on opened bugs is even better. I'll test out the patches and when myself and Patrick agree, we'll add you to the developer list. I think we have 8? developers, though not many are currently active. I have been looking at a number of the reported bugs over at sourceforge and have suggested fixes for a few, so on Chad's suggestion I am joining this mailing list. My company is getting ready to release a windows calendar app similar to Apple's iCal. We are using phpical to allow our users to publish their cals to the web. As one of the head developers, I have been working on both our client and testing and patching phpical. Your work has made my job a lot easier and I wanted to return the favour by contributing our fixes back into the project and help out where possible. So far, the few fixes that I have made have been outlined in bug reports on sourceforge. I am currently testing timezone support and have found several problems. I will outline everything I find in another email once I finish testing. We are also about to start beta testing, so I am sure we will be finding more things. For anyone who is interested, you can check out the company and what we are doing at http://www.semaview.com Rob Prouse |

Greetings, I want to rave about your efforts to publish iCal as php. It's great. I have one problem - I don't know what I am doing wrong but I get odd and phantom dates on the Calendar. They aren't on iCal, just on the web page: http://www.herb.com/practice/phpicalendar-0.9.4/ month.php?cal=all_calendars_combined971&getdate=20031101 I guess this must come from adding the time in by hand instead of using the info bar on the right. Also I'm not sure why this happens but sometimes I get duplicate events. I am so delirious with your program/script Thanks a million! John - |

Is anyone else having a problems with webcals? Since a few weeks ago, I've been getting all sorts of errors with any webcals (and, of course, with the combined calendar) such as these: Notice: Undefined variable: cal_decoded in /Library/WebServer/ical.gregwestin.com/phpicalendar/functions/ init.inc.php on line 82 Notice: Undefined variable: start_time in /Library/WebServer/ical.gregwestin.com/phpicalendar/functions/ ical_parser.php on line 557 Any ideas? It stores up all variables encountered from BEGIN:VEVENT to END:EVENT, then processes them. Going through the ical_parser.php file, it looks like a lot of the property case code depends on encountering properties in a logical order. However, I do not believe the iCalendar specification requires properties to be written to the file in that form. e.g. DTEND may appear before DTSTART. This means that some events will be read incorrectly, since the logic associated with building an event's internal representation is integrated with the parsing code. Reading event properties and converting them to the internal representation need to be separated. -- Wesley Miaw, Wesley Miaw Consulting http://www.wesman.net/ |
