you need to open the "config.ini" file, (short for "configure") there are instructions there. (in english) also you can just put things in the "Calendars" folder to make them available On Jun 17, 2004, at 8:00 AM, Felipe wrote: > Hello, > I am trying to read some calendar in PhpIcalendar but I don't reach to > choose > the one I want to be shown : I only can choose one of the default ones > (Work, > US Holidays...). > Do you know where to configure the calendars to be reachable by > PhpIcalendar ? > Or where can I find some doc about the soft ? > Thank you > > Christophe > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by The 2004 JavaOne(SM) Conference > Learn from the experts at JavaOne(SM), Sun's Worldwide Java Developer > Conference, June 28 - July 1 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA > REGISTER AND SAVE! http://java.sun.com/javaone/sf Priority Code > NWMGYKND > _______________________________________________ > Phpicalendar-devel mailing list > Php...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/phpicalendar-devel > |

Hello, I am trying to read some calendar in PhpIcalendar but I don't reach to choose the one I want to be shown : I only can choose one of the default ones (Work, US Holidays...). Do you know where to configure the calendars to be reachable by PhpIcalendar ? Or where can I find some doc about the soft ? Thank you Christophe |

I've done speed tests on the same groups of calendars and I can say v2.0 is almost twice as fast! I'm currently looking at a July release for a beta. Cheers. -C |

Hi All, Been lurking the list for some time, and does not have much time to=20 give, but it might come.... One thing, though. Has anyone 'modulized' PHPiCalendar for XOOPS? I'm getting more and more involved in XOOPS, and though it seems the=20 module 'pical' has branched from this project once, it's missing a lot=20= of features. If not, I might start looking at it... ____________________________________________ Jakob Peterh=E4nsel Network Consultant Tel: +45 7022 1014 Fax: +45 7022 1013 Mob: +45=A022 68 49 61 jp...@ne... www.NetPoint.com On 26. maj 2004, at 23:06, Chad wrote: > I'll be taking a break from development for a few weeks or so. I'll be taking a break from development for a few weeks or so. If any developers are interested in continuing to work on PHP iCalendar, let me know, there are a few other things I'd like help with (such as removing E_NOTICE warnings). Also to be done: Test sessions Complete admin.php and add http auth as a method. Complete search.php Test 2.0 in general. Cheers, C |

It checks the mod time of every calendar and stores it, then rechecks them every page load. If any calendars are missing or their mod time is changed, it reparses and saves again. I dont know how it works with login, I assumed it would all work since I build it just before it would be normally parsed. It wouldn't be hard to add a big more code for logged in users. -C On May 23, 2004, at 1:58 AM, Wesley Miaw wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Hi Chad, > >> I've built a cache mechanism for All Combined. I only see the cached All Combined calendar for the non-user calendars. Not sure why (based on my brief look at the code), but the All Combined calendars are not cached if a user is logged in. I guess that makes sense right now since the cached All Combined calendar doesn't have the username appended to the filename. Also, I believe the current code checks if the source calendar has changed by comparing time-stamps between the source and cached file. This probably needs to be done for the All Combined calendar cache as well, if it is not being done already. I think a cache for All Combined and webcals would be a great idea. I=20= think that's the cause of a lot of slowdowns for me, as when I load a=20 single calendar it takes only a few seconds (rather than 15) as you'd=20 expect because it's parsing less, but then when I reload the single=20 calendar it takes under a second. Also, the blacklisted calendars=20 aren't parsed for All Combined, right? OK, here are the speed changes I see: -Week: 16.563 --> 16.310 (0.689) -Month: 16.185 --> 14.806 (0.488) -Year: 15.646 --> 15.821 (0.628) So it's hard to tell if that changed it much, as there's such=20 variability in times even keeping everything constant, but it seems a=20 bit faster. I don't have a copy of 1.1 installed right now, but I could try=20 installing one over the weekend or next week for comparison. I've made a pass at optimizing the ical_parser itself, as template=20 overhead is about that of 2 calendars. I've also added a new time check=20= for full page and template. =46rom that we can see what speed=20 improvements come from parsing icals and from generating the templates.=20= I will work on adding a cache to All Combined and webcals, to speed=20 things up further after beta. Greg, give CVS one more shot. I don't=20 expect more than 1/2 a second or so. Also, it would be helpful to see=20 what your times your getting from 1.1, as I'd think 2.0 is a hair=20 faster (as most of the overhead is ical parsing itself). I'm also starting optimizing CSS and XHTML, my year view clocked in at=20= 220K, and is now around 100K. -C On May 19, 2004, at 6:14 AM, Greg Westin wrote: > Here's what I got before and after with the calendars in CVS: > -Week: 3.751 --> 3.264 > -Month: 3.665 --> 3.184 > -Year: 4.269 --> 3.368 > > Also, just for general interest, here's what I get before, with my=20 > calendars (not CVS): > -Week: 17.779 --> 16.715 > -Month: 17.659 --> 15.722 > -Year: 17.480 --> 15.943 > > So maybe not quite 20%, but significantly faster! > > Greg > -- > http://www.gregwestin.com > Contact info: http://www.gregwestin.com/contact.php > > On May 18, 2004, at 11:52 PM, Chad Little wrote: > >> I've checked in some new code, and am seeing about a 20% speed=20 >> increase. Here's what I got before and after with the calendars in CVS: -Week: 3.751 --> 3.264 -Month: 3.665 --> 3.184 -Year: 4.269 --> 3.368 Also, just for general interest, here's what I get before, with my=20 calendars (not CVS): -Week: 17.779 --> 16.715 -Month: 17.659 --> 15.722 -Year: 17.480 --> 15.943 So maybe not quite 20%, but significantly faster! Hi Chad, > I don't know much on templating so I'm going to ask for outside help. The only thing I've noticed with the current template process is that some special markers are used one way by the substitution code, but are used another way otherwise. For example, you have special logic written to handle the TODO iteration, however that logic is not "visible" in the template. That is, there is nothing in the template code to indicate that there is something special there that would be an iteration. Another example is how there are those switch comments (i.e. on/off) which are used to identify when to show or hide something, based on whether or not a value exists for that switch variable. However, these same comments are also used as identifiers in other code to handle special logic, and also to show or hide things without using the actual switch variable value. I didn't look too closely at things, but that was my first impression. Regards, -- Wesley Miaw http://www.wesman.net/ |

On another note, is there a reason that the custom goto box isn't in 2.0, or has it just not been implemented yet? It seems like a necessity, as otherwise you can't easily jump to the default values displayed, such as 'Go to today' or '2004'. Once I figure out this new templating system, hopefully I'll be able to make simple changes like this. Greg -- http://www.gregwestin.com Contact info: http://www.gregwestin.com/contact.php |

Oh, this was for the combined calendar of the three in CVS (Home, Work,=20= and US Holidays). For single calendars, I get between .9 and 1.5=20 seconds. Maybe my server is just slow? I don't know why, but I get drastically slower generation times. For=20 example: Day: 3.511 Month: 4.061 Year: 4.906 With my actual calendars rather than those in CVS, it's about 3-4 times=20= as slow. Any ideas why this might be? Also, every time I load a PHPiCalendar page, I see a little yellow=20 alert sign in the Safari tab I'm using. Is this due to an error in the=20= code, or some problem with my server, or what? For some reason my reply got spit back so here it is. That is weird, because Thunderbird says there are attached files in the send message. Here is the contents of the remind.php: <?php # make sure we have the str_split function require('function.str.split.php'); # Get the sent reminders include('sent.php'); # Set the place where the sent reminder places are stored, CHMOD to 0777 for write access by everyone $filename = 'sentreminders.txt';
