I have a problem when trying to publish a calendar to phpicalendar with http authentication. When I remove my .htaccess file everything works, as soon as I add it back iCal cannot publish. - I have tried both basic and digest auth. - I have checked the username/password used in iCal. - I have checked that I can access the page in a webbrowser if I enter the username passwd. - Nothing appears in the publish_log.txt file. Here is my .htaccess file: AuthType Basic AuthName "Restricted Area" AuthUserFile "/home2/apineapp/.htpasswds/calendar/passwd" require valid-user I have tried this on the released version of phpicalendar and the 2.0 beta. My web host is using Apache 1.3.33 with PHP 4.3.10 (it is with hosting company so there is nothing I can do with the httpd.conf files). There is nothing in the Apache error log. In the access log I see: 69.196.163.140 - - [15/Jan/2005:16:50:40 -0500] "PUT /admin/calendar/calendars/publish.ical.php/Home.ics HTTP/1.1" 401 2503 "-" "DAVKit/0.1" 69.196.163.140 - - [15/Jan/2005:16:51:19 -0500] "PUT /admin/calendar/calendars/publish.ical.php/Home.ics HTTP/1.1" 401 2502 "-" "DAVKit/0.1" If I remove the .htaccess file I get: 69.196.163.140 - - [15/Jan/2005:17:11:47 -0500] "PUT /admin/calendar/calendars/publish.ical.php/Home.ics HTTP/1.1" 500 2656 "-" "DAVKit/0.1" 69.196.163.140 - - [15/Jan/2005:17:17:16 -0500] "PUT /admin/calendar/calendars/publish.ical.php/Home.ics HTTP/1.1" 200 5 "-" "DAVKit/0.1" So it looks to me that iCal is not sending the username (no user is listed in the access log) and getting a 401 response or for some other reason it's not being authenticated. I wondered if my host company httpd.conf file had stopped PUTs into directories, but it does work if my .htaccess file is removed so it can't be that. Any ideas? Hello. I recently installed PHP 4.3.10 (from 4.3.2) and ever since, my year calendar view now shows 2 dots for an all day event, even when there is only one all day event. I did not see this behavior with the older version of PHP, does anyone else have the same problem or know what I can do to fix it? Thanks, Jen |

Yes it is, but it also took out my other sites. PHP iCalendar is a frequent hacking target for whatever reason. I also didnt want to put the site back until after 4.3.10 was installed and I had a change to check for any backdoors on my backups. -C On Dec 23, 2004, at 8:07 AM, Jim Hu wrote: > I heard that phpBB is vulnerable to hacker attack, and found this on > their website: > > http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=248046 > > Is that what happened? > > JH > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide > Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real > users. > Discover which products truly live up to the hype. At the bottom of ical_parser.php is some commented code for $master_array. It shows the structure of the array from which we build all our pages. Really, each page we display is just a different manipulation of this array. If you can work with mult-dimensional arrays in PHP, it should be a snap for you to create your own application. -Chad On Dec 13, 2004, at 1:52 AM, Ben Francis wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm interested in developing a kind of simple content management system > based on iCalendar data (to be GPLed if anything decent comes of it). > > The ultimate aim is to generate web pages from .ics files which will be > published to a web server via webdav. Sorry, what I wrote was probably misleading. I intend to publish the calendar (.ics) to the webserver using WebDAV then generate the pages from the calendar file dynamically using PHP. > Anyway, if you look through the source, you should be able to identify a > calendar object and the parsing code. Although if you want to be able to generate pages first and publish the pages, rather than publishing the calendars and generating the pages later, PHP may not be your best option. Hi all, I'm interested in developing a kind of simple content management system based on iCalendar data (to be GPLed if anything decent comes of it). The ultimate aim is to generate web pages from .ics files which will be published to a web server via webdav. This will allow a non-technical user to keep a calender of events (in this case exhibitions at a public art gallery and events at a theatre) using an iCalendar client such as iCal or Mozilla Calendar and publish them to the web, with no knowledge of web development or FTP. However, instead of (or as well as) the calendar view which is currently available using phpicalendar, there would be set of web pages with information about the events. There will be a front page which automagically displays current events or events in the near future with a title, subtitle, date from and to (eg. "15 October - 30 October 2004") or one date for one day events, times, description, link for "more info" and potentially a picture. Underneath would be a list of future events with links for more info. The page would look a little like this http://www.catmosearts.co.uk/xindex.htm (this page may disappear!) I'm also interested in somehow integrating this project with the Gallery project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gallery/) to display a gallery of images related to each past event. I've spent some time reading the iCalendar RFC and trying to understand the phpicalendar parser, but it's a bit beyond me to be honest. I do have PHP programming experience, but nothing on this scale. I'm basically asking if anyone thinks the phpicalendar parser could be adapted for my needs and if anyone could give me some pointers of where to start! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Steve, > Looks to me like I need to edit the httpd.conf file and add a > <Directory /Users/kelleyswiftjones/Library/Calendars> section? No, that shouldn't be necessary because it isn't Apache itself that is reading your calendars. There are 2 issues here. First, there was a bug introduced a while back that required all Calendar directories to be beneath the phpicalendar directory. This was fixed and is checked into CVS, but I guess not in the release archive. Second, since the web server runs as a different user than you, you need to make sure the directory and files can be read by the web server user. Here is an example from my machine: [josuah:~/Library/Calendars] wesley% ls -la total 1096 drwxr-xr-x 2 wesley staff 20480 12 Dec 14:15 . drwxr-xr-x 35 wesley staff 4096 15 Nov 23:47 .. - -rw-r--r-- 1 wesley staff 212233 12 Dec 14:15 DVDs.ics Notice that the directory itself (denoted by the filename .) has permissions 755. The ICS file has permissions 644. You can change permissions by typing in: [josuah:~/Library/Calendars] wesley% chmod 755 filename Hope this helps, - -- Wesley Miaw http://www.wesman.net/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (Darwin) iD8DBQFBvMRUQv4agqRAk2kRAtzeAJwPiz0gIDv9fthgcrgtpJDX1Dw2jACferjp dPiJtM67qWZDcoTknQ5MOzk= =myq5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

This is a know and already fixed bug for the next release. -C On Dec 12, 2004, at 12:39 PM, Steve wrote: > Forgive me if this is the wrong list to pose my question to but since > the website is down I thought I'd try here. > > I've just installed php 5.0.2 on an iMac (tests ok) and have > successfully installed phpicalendar. > > I have no problems if I copy the iCal calendars from the > /Users/kelleyswiftjones/Library/Calendars directory to the > phpicalender directory. Forgive me if this is the wrong list to pose my question to but since the website is down I thought I'd try here. I've just installed php 5.0.2 on an iMac (tests ok) and have successfully installed phpicalendar. I have no problems if I copy the iCal calendars from the /Users/kelleyswiftjones/Library/Calendars directory to the phpicalender directory. I can view them combined just fine. If I try to set the $calendar_path to anything but '', it fails. I've used $calendar_path = '/Users/kelleyswiftjones/Library/Calendars'; but I end up with: Unable to open the path: "/Users/kelleyswiftjones/Library/Calendars" The calendar "all_calendars_combined971" was being processed when this error occurred. I've dorked around with permissions and even tried to just view one calendar in the normal iCal directory but it still fails. Any ideas? -- Steve <s.jones at rogers.com> |

It was hacked and until I'm positive it can be secure, it's not going back up. -C On Dec 9, 2004, at 2:08 AM, Ben Francis wrote: > What's happened to the phpicalendar home page? > > -- > Ben "tola" Francis http://hippygeek.co.uk > ---------------------------------------------------- > COMPUTER SUPPORT for small businesses and home users > http://tolatech.co.uk > ---------------------------------------------------- > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide > Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real > users. > Discover which products truly live up to the hype.
