This question may have been asked before but I could not find the answer to it. I would like to create a map of Puerto Rico for the Place Hierarchy section. I have an image of Puerto Rico divided by counties. I created a HTML page (PR.htm) with only the map section. I used dreamweaver to get the coordinates. I added the javascript portion to each line of the area: <area href="javascript:setPlaceState('Arecibo(Arecibo)')" alt="Arecibo" title="Arecibo" shape="poly" coords="407,76,404,187,428,175,439,184,442,199,470,194,475,183,492,190,517,189,532,179,542,156,534,133,540,109,541,93,535,88,518,87,490,94,464,81,451,86,433,85,412,79" >. I Created a text file with the county names called PR.txt. The island will only have 2 levels PR and the county. What am I doing wrong? I appreciate any help. Thank you. -- Jubal |

Hello, I have a new problem. During input an individual my computer stopped and broke the program. Now I have an individual without any data. When I try to change or add data I receive this error info: Access denied You don't have any permission for this. The data protection attitudes prevent that you can work on this data set. You don't have access to pid I8946. Where can I change the protection attitudes? greetings Josef |

Hi Josef, You can reorder the families as they appear on the close relatives tab using the "Reorder Families" option on the individual page under the "Edit" menu. The marriage facts that show up on the personal facts and details tab are sorted by date. --John -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... [mailto:php...@li...] On Behalf Of jgi...@t-... Hi Josef, The children are sorted by the order they are listed in the family record. You can change the order of the children by going to the family page (click on the view family links on the close relatives tab, or choose a family from the family list). Under the "Edit Family" menu is an option to reorder the children. --John =20 -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... [mailto:php...@li...] On Behalf Of jgi...@t-... Hi Len, If you have an authenticate.php file in your index directory, then you should switch the authentication module setting of the config.php file back to authentication_index.php. Since you started from scratch you may need to copy your old authenticate.php file into your new index directory. Once you are able to login you can convert users from index to mysql mode using the user migration tool. You might try manually going to editconfig.php in your browser to see if that page detects that there is no admin user and asks you to create one. --John -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... I too am running php5.x. When I first configured my setup, I too had a problem with the mysql php5 selection. I than selected mysql as the database, and it worked. I'm running win2k server, apache 2.x, php5.0.4, and mysql 4.1.13. See if that might do the trick. john On 21 Sep 2005 at 13:20, Len wrote: > I am using mysql. > > I did start with a fresh config. > I am on W2K, so file permissions are not a problem. > > The sqlite may be the problem. What this means is that you can sub-divide your media files into directories inside the media folder. The directories will be based upon the paths used to reference your media items in your GEDCOM file. =20 When you export a GEDCOM file from many genealogy programs the media links are included. This does not mean that the media files themselves are included, but that the links are included. =20 In the GEDCOM they might look like this: 1 OBJE 2 TITL Grandpa Joe 2 FILE C:\pictures\genealogy\grandpa.jpg =20 If you already have these links in your file, then you don't have to recreate them in PGV. You just have to upload the pictures to the media directory using the "upload media files" page or using FTP. PhpGedView will automatically translate the paths from what they were on your local computer to what they should be on the website. =20 Now suppose you have two links to different grandpa.jpg pictures: 1 OBJE 2 TITL Grandpa Joe 2 FILE C:\pictures\genealogy\surname1\grandpa.jpg ... 1 OBJE 2 TITL Grandpa Fred 2 FILE C:\pictures\genealogy\surname2\grandpa.jpg =20 In the default configuration this would cause a conflict because PhpGedView is going to look for the pictures at media/grandpa.jpg and won't be able to distinguish between them. =20 To fix this, PhpGedView has the option of using subdirectories and looking for the pictures at paths like this: Media/surname1/grandpa.jpg Media/surname2/grandpa.jpg =20 =20 =20 =20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... [mailto:php...@li...] On Behalf Of Hughes, Michael Sent: Monday, September 19, 2005 12:26 PM To: php...@li... Subject: [Phpgedview-talk] Question about the media portion of PHPGEDVIEW =20 STUPID ? ALERT! =20 here is an excerpt from the installation instructions: =20 As of version 2.0 you can configure PhpGedView to recognize subdirectories in your media folder. The subdirectories must be the same names as the subdirectories in your media file paths pointed to in your GEDCOM file. For example if you have the following media references in your GEDCOM file: C:\Pictures\Genealogy\photo.jpg C:\Pictures\Scans\scan1.jpg scan2.jpg =20 What file is this referring to and where would it be located? |

I think what they are referring to here is that in some Gedcom programs on your computer you can have media included, so if you export a Gedcom with the media ( bad Idea ) and you want those media to show up in Phpgedview, you can have the subdirectories ( a windows thing ) under the main dir of media. Take my advise, don't export the media if you have any in your genealogy program already, and add each picture on the webpage, it will cause you a lot less grief. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... It's your first time, it's hard to get everything right. I remember the first time I road a motorcycle... Well later for that . Let see, the media oh yes, Well assuming you have the media turned on, that is the default, you have to add a media item to each person, when you add it thee will be a box that you can check that tells gedview to use that photo as the thumbnail. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... I'm running apache 2.1 PHP 4.36 and mysql 4.11 and I too have no problems now, however, when I tried to set up php 5.0 under IIS 5 I had one error after another. Most of it was a perpl cgi time out error, but some of it was undefined varable. I tried to turn off all error reporting under php but was unable to use the old command line to do so. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... I understand, I had the same problem with php 5.0 I even turned off all error reporting. Is your max execution time set high enough? I can't say for sure on a Linux box, ( I'm windows ) ( I know, sorry ) but if your php.ini is set to display all errors, error_reporting = E_ALL you might be timing out on the upload I finally gave up and went back to php 4.3.6 and have not had a problem. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li...
