Hi, I have the latest release installed. I successfully created and tested a survey. After I made it active I'm getting the following error when attempting to access the survey: [ Error processing survey: Survey is not active. ] I receive the same error whether accessing the survey directly or embedded in an existing page. Any help is appreciated. Neil |

Hi All, I have installed phpesp 2.0.2 on my website and when attempting to browse to the admin page I received the following error: FATAL: Unable to open /home/childcar/public_html/phpesp//admin/phpESP.ini.php. Aborting. I assume it doesn't like the extra / So I modified the manage.php file as follows: if (!defined('ESP_BASE')) define('ESP_BASE', dirname(dirname(__FILE__))); Removing the trailing / from the definition of ESP_BASE I now get the following error: FATAL: Unable to open /home/childcar/public_html/phpesp/admin/phpESP.ini.php. Aborting. The file does exist in the directory and permissions are set for read and execute. It must be reading manage.php in order to get this far so I'm confused as to what could cause it to not pick up the ini file. Any help is appreciated. Neil |

No real forking here, but it does the job I guess. I do believe that if the answer is "NO" and question 10-16 are shown as seperate sections (pages) of the survey, the people taking the survey would see some empty pages, I never did really check out this possibility ... Hi, I've tried searching the archives, but I haven't seen any clear-ish answers on this. I have a survey that I'd like to run something like this: question 1...question 2... up to question 8. If question 8 is "YES", show question 9 and stop. If question 8 is "NO", show questions 10-16 and stop. Since the conditions presented are explicitly "OR", is there a standard method of making a forking survey in this fashion? Thanks! //jbaltz -- jerry b. altzman jb...@gm... www.jbaltz.com foo mane padme hum |

Hi all, in order to fix some bugs with 2.1.0, 2.1.1 has been released. No DB changes have been made. From the changelog: - Fixed some issues with save/resume surveys (I have to admit: I never tested this before, so how old these bugs were, I have no idea) - Fresh installations didn't have initial data due to an xml schema mismatch, easy to fix but inconvenient. For those curious on how I fixed this: just changed "0.2" to "0.3" in scripts/db/data.xml. That'll teach me to update the adodb-schema class and not updating all versions ... - Changing a user or designer caused his password to become empty, not very wise (who knows how long this has been in ...). This was due to using _addslashes on all entered data and only checking emptyness afterwards, but when a variable contains just quotes, it is no longer empty ... this was probably already in 2.0.2 as well. To update: just replace the current phpESP dir with the new one and log in to the admin section. Enjoy the update! Franky |

hmmm ... a md5sum relies only on content normally, but if you want, I'd like to take this up in private so we can find the error (you could already check the filesize to be sure, it should be 6974 bytes). But for now, I'll remove the check for the next version if I can't find the error. And maybe I shouldn't have done the check on the fixed part, only on the default part :) Franky On Sun, 13 Apr 2008 11:21:41 -0400 "Rob de Santos" <rde...@af...> wrote: > Uploading in binary mode did not make any difference. Option 2 is what I'm trying to do, but the problem is that when curl sends the file over the command line, when it's processes via PHP the attached file comes over $_FILES. But, added the postdata obviously doesn't allow it to come over that way. Is there any way to use option 2 and transmit the file so it will come over under $_FILES? -- Aaron Bojan Tesanovic wrote: > > On Apr 12, 2008, at 11:37 PM, Aaron Axelsen wrote: > >> I am trying to create the following command with the php curl functions: >> >> curl -F "data=@domain.xml" "http://path/to/api" >> >> The problem i'm having is that i'm creating the xml file with php - >> so the contents are stored in a variable. Uploading in binary mode did not make any difference. I took the second option so I could finish the upgrade. My FTP client is WS-FTP Pro and generally very reliable in matters such as this. Does the checksum depend on file date or time? If it does that's the problem since the server controls that, I cannot. Also, if you don't want users to be able to change the .fixed file then this will never be usable: // URL for favorite icon (optional) // NOTE: uncomment if you have one, and make sure you deposit an icon file whereever [sp?] you've specified // $ESPCONFIG['favicon'] = $ESPCONFIG['base_url'] . 'images/favicon.ico'; And I'd like to use it.... eventually. -- -Rob de Santos AFANA Chairman Ph: +1-614-571-8986 Fax: +1-866-334-9884 -----Original Message----- From: Franky Van Liedekerke [mailto:lie...@te...] Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2008 3:31 AM To: rde...@af... Hi all, the latest and best of phpESP has been released: version 2.1.0. Many things have changed, but the most changing one is the split of the config file in 3 seperate files, allowing easier updates (see the CHANGELOG file). From the changelog: - Dashboard implementation (by Bishop Bettini) - start/stop date for a survey (by Bishop Bettini) - A conditional question resulted in a "non-required" for the question it depends on, this limit has been removed. - You can now do authenticated ldap binds when searching for the uid, some LDAP servers need this (is more secure than anonymous binds anyway) - A default config file has been added (admin/phpESP.ini.php.default), your own changes should go into admin/phpESP.ini.php. The advantage is that new options can be added to the default file and you don't need to change anything to your own config file. Also a fixed part has been added (admin/phpESP.ini.php.fixed) containing values that should not be changed. The sequence is: require (phpESP.ini.php.default); ==> defaults, gets overwritten with every new release require (phpESP.ini.php); ==> your own values, never gets overwritten require (phpESP.ini.php.fixed); ==> fixed parts, you can change these, but they get overwritten with every new release - Web based updates and web based installs are now possible, no more manually entering sql statements in the db - Switching/changing database table prefixes is now possible - An answer to a question of type textbox, essay or numerical can now be required to be unique Any feedback is welcome. Enjoy! Franky |

So if the customer is not pleased about something we can trace him/her with this number. The customer will get this number when there is an service job. To secure abuse of using the twice or more. the systems checks on IP, Email, and service number. now this check is after the survey(outro page) but without the service number check. The way it is now is not very clean. So I would like to intergrate all this into the survey.Isn't it possible to "cook" this in myself? So if the customer is not pleased about something we can trace him/her with this number. The customer will get this number when there is an service job. With the survey they can tell us how happy there are about it. After this al they get an discount coupon. To secure abuse of using the twice or more. the systems checks on IP, Email, and service number. now this check is after the survey(outro page) but without the service number check. The way it is now is not very clean. So I would like to intergrate all this into the survey.Isn't it possible to "cook" this in myself? Onderwerp: Re: [phpesp-general] if answer is x do this Hi, actions on answers are not (yet) possible, you can always file a feature request for this (with an example of how and why to use it). The same goes for unique responses (although I fail to see the use for that, for surveys users should be oblivious of other people's answers). Franky ----- Original Message ----- Subject: [phpesp-general] if answer is x do this From: fid...@pl... To: php...@li... Date: 08-04-2008 12:34 Hello, Is it possible to apply an action after a question? For example: if the answer is A send an email to ex...@ex...[1] else nothing. Another thing I want to do is, If the answare already exist you cannot continue (when the user must fill in an unique number). In a stand alone php file I can make this work. but I don't know how to intergrate this in phpESP. Does someone know how/where I can do this?
