Greetings, I have developed a page which will allow users to upload style sheets for use with phpesp. Currently it is set up so only superusers have the righ= t to upload. Note that for this to work, the public/css folder needs to be writeable by apache or your webserver of choice. THe file again should b= e places in the admin/includes/where folder. --- Aaron Axelsen Learning Technology Center UW - Whitewater |

Greetings, Attached to this document is a new form of the help document which i have modified and maybe made things cleared for some people. You can either overwrite the existing help file, or just rename this to something else and access it via where=3Dnew_name. Hope this is helpful to someone! --- Aaron Axelsen Learning Technology Center UW - Whitewater --- Aaron Axelsen Learning Technology Center UW - Whitewater |

Hi All: I'm getting great results from phpESP outside of one issue which was discussed in other postings, but I'm not sure was ever resolved/acted on: In many of my surveys, there is the desire to have a Comments: field located beneath a series of selection controls (radio buttons, check boxes), but one that does not appear as a select item in the list. For example: Q: How would you rate your team's effectiveness? (Choose one): (o) Excellent (o) Good (o) Fair (o) Poor Comments: [..................] At present, using the !other= feature, I am only able to have the comments appear as part of the selection list, as follows: Q: How would you rate your team's effectiveness? (Choose one): (o) Excellent (o) Good (o) Fair (o) Poor (o) Comments [..................] This is particularly troublesome with radio buttons, as someone will click the "Comments" button to enter comments, thus removing their prior (intended) answer. Has this been addressed to date? Any work-arounds/advice? Thanks in advance. David Throckmorton |

Surveys are somewhat themeable using CSS. I'm not sure they are flexible enough to do what you need, however. Check the phpESP/public/css folder for examples. New themes added there will show up in the theme drop-down when you create/edit surveys. On Mon, 2004-03-08 at 14:33, Charlie Smith wrote: > How to remove the white space in between questions?. How to remove the white space in between questions?. Is there a style sheet that does this for us? |

I guess we don't much care about skewing the results, as the purpose of the survey would be more just to collect information and give a static, pretty much, set of results with no analysis. >>> "Brian Wood" <br...@uc...> 3/8/2004 11:10:23 AM >>> At 06:45 AM 3/8/2004, Charlie Smith wrote: >What affect would it have if we were to allow active surveys to be modified in >that we could add questions to the existing survey? Off the top of my head... If the question you add is not a required question, and you want to be able to see how many people chose to answer that question, you would need an "effective date" representing the date that the question was added, in order to be able to distinguish non-responses from respondents who submitted a survey before the question existed. Seems like that column would need to be added to the 'question' table. You'd then need to modify the Admin pages like "View Survey Responses" so that they take this into account. I just noticed what I believe to be a small security issue in 'admdesigner.inc'. There is an existing permisions check, but it only applies to "Delete" operations. As far as I can tell, there is no checking when opening, updating, or adding a designer. One solution would be to move the permissions check a dozen lines earlier, and have it apply to all operations. Hope I'm not imagining things again... Have a good one! Bugs item #748223, was opened at 2003-06-03 09:53 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by greggmc You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108956&aid=748223&group_id=8956 Category: Admin Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Matthew Gregg (greggmc) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: CSV Export field name clash Initial Comment: CVS exporter doesn't distinguish between fields that are named the same. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Matthew Gregg (greggmc) Date: 2004-02-21 16:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=14116 Closing again since current fix from Angek is acceptable ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Willemsen (mcwsf) Date: 2004-02-17 08:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=977615 I would certainly value a patch that can resolve problems with already existing surveys. We ran a questionnaire using phpesp 1.6.1 that has this problem, and it is difficult to retrieve the data otherwise. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matthew Gregg (greggmc) Date: 2003-10-01 08:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=14116 If the patch works for existing surveys it should go into the tree. Why would we want this optional? Don't want to have to ask people to apply a patch and we don't want to continually keep the patch in sync with the tree. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kon Angelopoulos (angek) Date: 2003-10-01 06:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=198398 I've tested it an it doesn't break existing surveys it only applies to any new questions being added to the survey. However how about distributing a patch that can be used by those who find themselves in this situation where the question id is joined to the question name thus making it unique. They can then simply download the results again and hopefully the problem no longer exists. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matthew Gregg (greggmc) Date: 2003-09-29 10:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=14116 I think disallowing duplicate question names is the way to go, but could break existing surveys. How should we handle that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kon Angelopoulos (angek) Date: 2003-09-27 20:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=198398 I've added code to survey_update to prevent duplicate question names from being used in a given survey which will prevent this type of bug from reoccuring. If you think that this is satisfactory then close this request. If however you feel strongly about allowing duplicate names and that the fix should be in the cvs export function then please let me know and I'll look into it while I have a bit of time on my hands. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108956&aid=748223&group_id=8956 |
