Guys, That' s certainly one way to fire me up........ Challenge ACCEPTED.... Yup, save file popup is what I'm talking about. It probbaly will have to be slightly out of the ESP framework due to headers being sent as James pointed out. --On Friday, March 22, 2002 10:02:17 PM +0200 Roman Jasins <cit...@ma...> wrote: > Matthew, > > are talking about a pop-up window (aka Save File). Ok. Here is my patch. It is a quick hack so I may be over looking some things. Please point out anything that you see wrong with it. All I am using ldap for is authentication for now. When someone trys to log into phpESP/admin it will check the database ( this is so we can still have a root user ) if that fails it authenticates against the ldap server and if successfull it will either insert user information into the database and create a seperate group for the user or update the user password to match the one for ldap. What do you guys think? |

Please do! How do you plan to do this? I was thinking that there would have to be some script outside the admin/include framework to do this (since by then there are already headers/data sent). This script outside should use a content-type of "application/x-csv"(?) and return the actual csv data. I would suggest splitting the exising survey_export_cvs() into: survey_generate_cvs() -- creates a string/array of data survey_export_cvs() -- calls generate, and writes to file Then your download script could call generate, and just print the appropriate headers then the data directly. -James On Fri, 22 Mar 2002, Matthew Gregg wrote: > Cool. Hi folks, Man our timeing stinks... MUSC.edu has decided to use phpESP as our main survey tool. We had just begun a couple of modifications, "section text" and LDAP auth., being the first two. So as I was about to post the "section text" patch, Kon jumps in and beats me to it :-) Thats awesome! I would like to throw out a possible change to Kon's patch. Instead of having the "section text" indented, have it flush with the question numbering. For example: Put the "section text" in the left column and do a colspan="2". Thoughts? |

As a note to anyone upgrading to the CVS version from v1.3. If you plan on using the same database (which is fine) you must do the following for the "Section Text" updates to work. Using what ever SQL interface you like, execute the following SQL statement: INSERT INTO question_type VALUES ('100','Section Text','N',''); If you install the CVS version using a new database, the phpESP.sql script will add the necessary row. Enjoy, -James On Fri, 22 Mar 2002, James E. Flemer wrote: > I just committed the patches from Kon to add a "Section > Text" question type. I just committed the patches from Kon to add a "Section Text" question type. This type is not exactly a "question" at all, but it lets you insert free form text (html) anywhere into the survey. I will be updating the code on the demo site to the latest CVS version soon, so you should be able to try it out there this afternoon. I you would like to use this version, you can find instructions on how to get the sources from CVS on this page: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=8956 I would like to thank Kon for submitting this patch. Your name is now in the CREDITS file, as are the people who have sent me translated message files. Keep them coming. -James On Fri, 22 Mar 2002, Kon Angelopoulos wrote: > Hi Guys, > > I've managed to patch the CVS version of phpesp with > the angekpatch-new.diff and everything worked fine. Hi Guys, I've managed to patch the CVS version of phpesp with the angekpatch-new.diff and everything worked fine. I evan ran the patch on phpESP-1.3 and although it reported "can't find file to patch at input line ." all the relevant files were updated And the program worked fine. So James go ahead and commit the changes. Kon |

James, Could you please send me a copy of this file. If I copy the one on the list the patch process keeps failing (I am applying it to the cvs version of phpesp). Kon |

Hey Kon, I made a few changes to your patch. This is a patch against the latest CVS for your changes. Why don't you checkout the latest CVS code and try it out. (This patch may not apply cleanly to v1.3, tho you could try that too.) To get the latest CVS version follow the instructions at: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=8956 To apply the patch, enter the phpESP (or phpESP-1.3) directory and type: $ patch < path/to/angekpatch-new.diff Let me know if that looks good, then I can commit it. Anyone else is welcome to try it out and share your $0.02. -James |

I believe there is someone working on French translations at the moment. I emailed them, and asked them the status of their work, they should be ``coming very soon..'' If you can wait for a little longer then you can just download the new message file. If you are in a rush, or just want to do it yourself, take a look at the translation page[1]. There are about 250 strings to translate -- so it would probably take a few hours. All I need is the translated messages.po (as an email attachment). As far as the images... Yes I did plan to have different images for each language, but didn't get around to adding the code. If you (or anyone else for that matter) sends me PNGs (or GIFs, tho PNG is preferred) I will find the time to add the necessary code. :-) -James On Wed, 20 Mar 2002, Cédric Levasseur wrote: > Hi, > So this is the first message on this devel-list,(welcome everybody) > which is funny since i'm neither a member of the development team, > neither a great software developper. > > I'm a little phpESP user, and i think it useful. > To thank you, may be i can contribute to it : i'm french: > Can i make a french version of phpESP ? > (i prefer ask you to be sure nobody is already working on it) > So if you aggree, > . do you know how long did it take to make the german version; > . could you tell me if it's planned to make the image internationalized ? > . could you tell me how could i send you the file, via CVS or simply by > attachment ? Hi, So this is the first message on this devel-list,(welcome everybody) which is funny since i'm neither a member of the development team, neither a great software developper. I'm a little phpESP user, and i think it useful. To thank you, may be i can contribute to it : i'm french: Can i make a french version of phpESP ? (i prefer ask you to be sure nobody is already working on it) So if you aggree, . do you know how long did it take to make the german version; . could you tell me if it's planned to make the image internationalized ? . could you tell me how could i send you the file, via CVS or simply by attachment ? (of course is easier for me not configuring cvs) May my english/american is not perfect in this message. But it will be easier for me to traduce from english to French, don't worry ;-) I wait for your response before starting. Friendly |
