Category: survey format Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Yunus KALDIRIM (colderthanice) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: a new question type Initial Comment: If there was an easy way do you want to go harder? I asked this because i need an easy way. Think that; Mid High University ------ ------ ---------------- q1: did u like ur school? [yes-no ] [yes-no ] [yes-no ] q2: what was ur high point? [fill] [fill] [fill] q3: was there much girl? [1-3 rate] [1-3 rate] [1-3rate] ... ... These questions are sample. In fact , I need a question which i can answer in 3 different column like 3 different question. But in this version. I must ask 3 times q1,q2,q3 .. I have 30 questions like this. What can i do? 30x3=90! When i ask 3 times same question responder clicking close so what would u do in same situation. phpESP is the best. Please add a function to improve phpESP quality. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=358956&aid=1208445&group_id=8956 |

Category: gui Group: None Status: Open Priority: 4 Submitted By: Matthew Gregg (greggmc) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: required questions notification Initial Comment: Suggestion from one of our users. Posting here for reference. ---- When survey has required fields that aren't completed when the survey is submitted........ Instead of citing the full questions, couldn't you simply tell which answers are missing by listing the question numbers (like Question 2, 6, 7) It would gain a lot in legibility, and you can scroll down immediately to the question numbers indicated... Since you're fixing this, wa red frame (+ faded red background) around the warning text "You are missing the following required questions: " + the list of questions numbers would make this tool, I'd say, close to perfection... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Yunus KALDIRIM (colderthanice) Date: 2005-05-25 16:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1225311 i do request this ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=358956&aid=999821&group_id=8956 |

He Open Source Survey developers out their, what to you think about a "xml open source survey standard" for importing/exporting and transforming it by xsl to any output media i am starting to work on a new project based on open survey pilot (opensurveypilot.org/). With the new release it will be gpl based an get a new project core team, us. I started to work on a new survey display system based on xml/xsl. Now i realized that is even a lot more powerfull, if we make use it also as a xml based export/import base for questions/pages/surveys. I thing the xml-structure for a survey should be mostly the same for all surveys and surveysoftware. So why shouldn't we cooperate to develop this new "open source survey standard" ? It is also very independent from the software itself, so everybody can use it very easy. I think it is a great idea and i would like to start with this right now. But i really would like to to this with many developers/projects together, to become more universal and powerfull. And i know thats this is a long term task. What do you think? Has any of you allready developed a xml-structure for surveys? Do you have experience with php-xml/(xsl) development? Do you think it is a feature for your project? Their is a commercial standard out their (http://www.triple-s.org/) which we could use to start. best whishes and hopefully you will join our development.. Tim |

Bugs item #1198526, was opened at 2005-05-09 14:36 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108956&aid=1198526&group_id=8956 Category: User Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Craig Sturman (crenfax) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: incomplete required answers result in inability to proceed Initial Comment: Hi, I've run into an issue with failing to complete required fields. Essentially, if the user misses a field and then clicks on the 'next page' button, it stays on the same page and lets the user know he/she missed a question. The problem is that, after this point, progressing is impossible as it refuses to move forward even after missing fields are completed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=108956&aid=1198526&group_id=8956 |

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: possible db password-leak Date: Tue, 26 Apr 2005 22:10:24 +0200 (MEST) From: ago...@gm... To: jim...@us... Hi, after playing around with phpESP (1.6.1) a bit, looking through the directories on my drive etc, in the scripts-dir i found the file mysql_create.sql. i forgot to delete it after the installation and i was quite shocked, because it contains the mysql-password/user. this isnt a bug, but i think it's dangerous. After deleting it, i googled for 'inurl:"survey.php?name"' to find phpESP-installations. quite a lot out there. Very much of the Admins forgot to delete the file too, and its accessible from the web... I know it's not your fault, but the user's. Maybe you could change the install-process a little, so that the password is more protected? Anyway: phpESP is good work, no question :) -ago --=20 +++ GMX - die erste Adresse f=FCr Mail, Message, More +++ 10 GB Mailbox, 100 FreeSMS http://www.gmx.net/de/go/topmail |

Please carbon-copy me on replies. If this is covered in the documentation, sorry I overlooked it. Please point me to it. (I also posted to phpesp-general list a few days ago but didn't receive any response.) I am helping with a survey that is using phpESP. (I didn't install or configure it.) The survey includes 200 statements that each have three questions to cover. Is it possible with phpESP to have one phpESP question have multiple radio lists? For example (in HTML): <p> <b>1. The statement here.</b><br /> Frequency scale: How often is this task done in your job?<br /> Never: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="A"> Less than yearly: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="B"> Yearly: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="C"> Weekly: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="D"> Quarterly: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="E"> Monthly: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="F"> Daily: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="G"> Several times each day: <input type="radio" name="freq-1" value="H"> <br /> Importance scale: How important is this task for the successful performance of your job?<br /> None: <input type="radio" name="imp-1" value="0"> Low: <input type="radio" name="imp-1" value="1"> Some: <input type="radio" name="imp-1" value="2"> Very: <input type="radio" name="imp-1" value="3"> Essential: <input type="radio" name="imp-1" value="4"> </p> Notice above there are three different radio names. Currently, we have the above done using checkboxes, but the survey taker could choose multiple for one area. I'd like to use radio to keep them from having multiple answers. Can phpESP do the above? Please carbon-copy me on replies. Thank you, Jeremy C. Reed Low cost press releases http://www.reedmedia.net/ |

But the TOTAL is the same for all questions and represents the total number of people who took the survey, not the total number of people who answered the question. I think it would make more sense to have the total that appears under some question types be the total respondents and have the total number of survey takers appear elsewhere.
