I have just found this slide show maker and like the way the "Ken Burns effect" is implemented, except for one problem - for my slides, there is a distracting "shimmer effect" on some images, especially where thin lines are present such as rigging lines on a boat, or ripple lines in still water surfaces. http://jimberry.org/InverlochDay/bunurong_dreaming.mp4
Is there some way to minimise this?

I just checked the video and the effect you describe is clearly visible.
My guess is that it is a compression artefact, as the video has a
resolution of 640x360 only.
I myself have never seen that, but I always use full HD output from
photos with about double that resolution. Maybe selecting other output
format will reduce that.
