Thanks for this release Andy. A touch uncertain about the GUI, do you mean that it requires 10.4 for Client GUI tools to work?
Assuming 10.3.9 OK for the GUI apps,
    – what is the default password for "Create New Database"
(it will not advance to next if left blank)?
    – re "Create New User" are there any characters not allowed in any of the fields?
    – what is default user postgres password

There are several problems with this release. The problem was that my PPC test box was 10.4, and the build machine (not my old build machine, but an Xserve running 10.3.9) build against a bad copy of CVS. I'm working on a fix and a blog post.

      Patrick,

I think the default password is 'postgres'. It works on the Query Tool; however, the Create New Database tool doesn't seem to like that password as it will not let me pass beyond the login screen to allow db creation. I can always create them by hand via a terminal session until Andy gets back to us.

      Thanks Weldon,
Using pword postgres indeed does not allow progress in 'create database', in 'create new user' it allows progress to next step, ie login/user ID fields etc…and seemingly was able to correctly create a new user, however when then entering new user etc into create database fields an error was returned FATAL: "role Patrick does not exist."
Also the Query Tool will not launch, there's a message re damaged file.
Also the absence of the service tool utility seems a shame.

The Query Tool worked for me with each of the users that I created. I did have to create the other database by hand - definitely need the Create New Database.
