What: The peppermintOS installer ignores the "openRC" option and installs "SysVinit".
Details:
-peppermint_devuan-amd64,iso, probably from 24.september
-Installer gives option "openRC" and I selected that twice.
-After installation, checking it, it shows init System SysVinit, nothing else done before- fresh system.
-Install within a VM
-Why this matters: I try to install grub-btrfs with snapshots, and hope it works better with openRC than SysVinit as there's a script created for openRC on github.
Thanks!
Just want to make sure you did get that from here right?

Hi Anonymous,
Difficult to say- I came via
https://sourceforge.net/projects/peppermintos/files/isos/XFCE/peppermint_devuan-amd64.iso/download
so I don't know what repository is used underneath.
But checking my browser history- I downloaded it indeed by 24.sept from
https://altushost-net.dl.sourceforge.net/project/peppermintos/isos/XFCE/peppermint_devuan-amd64.iso?viasf=1&fid=52b56b27955cbb2a&e=1790327385&st=eZ6qiRL0ZopKcOcqaI7pNQ
So that could fit- your link is from 23.sept, so this is likely the same
version.
best regards and thanks for looking into this.
best regards,
Phil

Thank you for this catch! again...
I was able to validate that this is a bug., I have a plan for a solution and will note in this string when it is implemented some time this week
Just keeping a update log here..
Wrote in a new module named pep-init-tool into the calamares installer that makes sure to install the selected init the user picks...
This ISO will be uploaded for testing Friday. So far local testing has been successful.
Awesome! I gladly join testing! I would be default do it on a VM..but if necessary, I have also a barebone at hand that I could overwrite..just it's a bit special, a 2-in-1 nonstandard laptop where actually not few distros failed to work.
