Had the same issue with it hanging at 73%. Never completed or came back even with an error after 14 hours. Moved on to try by using "sudo -E calamares -d" to see what was happening and installing without any additional apps and it hung on step 36 of 39 and timed out and quit without completing. Not sure what else was supposed to happen but the system booted and I ran xDaily to try to finish the install but I'm not certain if it is complete or not. It appeared to be modifying some repository files or something like that when it timed out.
The system is up and running now regardless but I have no way to know what the installer timed out on or if all the necessary steps have been performed to have the system properly configured.

That is the catch.....Its totally preference.....but for me I prefer to install software after the operating system is installed.
When you select packages during the Peppermint install it is kind of like a net install It will download the stuff you selected and then install it at the tail end ....thats why it stops at 73% so if you select a lot of stuff and depending on the computer specs and internet connection speed it can take awhile and seem frozen.....
But for me I install a the OS with no packages and then afterwards I use the PepHub to get me up and running.....
Hope that helps...

For me the install broke on step 36/39 and never completed even with no additional apps selected. The system booted though after reboot. What are those last 3 not completed steps? is there anything I need to do to complete the install correctly?

I can't offer a logical explanation.
If you are able boot into the system, open a terminal run this command sudo xDaily this hopefully will complete install and fully upgrade your system. If not, download a new iso and do a fresh install with clean USB3 stick for optimum results.
Merry Christmas and welcome to Planet Peppermint.

I noticed you have deleted your latest post, (see attachment).
As Peppermint OS says above, what method did you employ, the auto or a manual install?
UEFI or Legacy?
Debian or Devuan?
32 or 64bit?
I have installed both OS'es hundreds of times during our testing and development stage prior our general release this year. Today I can not replicate what you are describing using my elderly Dell 5430 laptop, in either Legacy or UEFI with Secure Boot enabled.
To check your current install open a terminal and run these two commands separately:
dpkg -l | grep ^..r
sudo apt install -f
Please supply the specs of computer with this command inxi -Fxz and the install method used?
Hi everyone, I am having issues with getting peppermint os installed on my old hp stream.
I have tried the installation 4 times now and each time it gets stuck at 73%.
The log says === START CALAMARES 3.2.57
then it doesnt do anything. Bottom left says installing 561 packages and doesnt change.
I have tried 2 different usb drives and redownloaded iso.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

While installing did you select any software? when you went through the install wizard?
Yes I did. Does that not work?
