ok so i am sort of getting somewhere

    had
    - Far Cry 3 with Ubisoft Connect launching usingPROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
    -MudRunner usingPROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

because no dxvk installed we are using opengl BUT this is not ideal, prone to freezing and shutdown (more so if you want to window it using protontricks to set virtual desktop.)

dxvk is available in unstable / bookworm i believe for AMD64 and i386
    https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/dxvk
my system is x86_64 so shouldnt be any drama here

    • is it possible to install this one package? dxvk
    • will adding unstable bookworm repositories cause to many issues?
    • is there a better way?
    • and how do i do it?

if i need / want to compile package from source how would i do that?

I always start my testing with Far Cry series due to the PITA issues with Ubisoft Connect Launcher

however Borderlands 2 works fine in native linux mode

DXVK is in the Bullseye (debian) repos, and appears to need Wine to function.

None of us in the Dev team are gamers, or have the experience to aid your quest.

For some reason it is not in the Chimaera (devuan) repos. Both systems utilise the backports for the latest software. We'll have look into to this, to see if it could be added to Chimaera.

    that would be great cavy

yeah i dont know why its not in the devuan package yet

but this is what sort of happened when i tried devuan galaxy
    https://dev1galaxy.org/viewtopic.php?pid=38399#p38399

i could re-install and go with the systemd version of Peppermint OS ....
but i already have linux mint debian 5 for that, so it would kind of defeat my purpose of trying to see / measure differences between a systemd build and systemd free build
that was my whole purpose of choosing the devuan version

i cant even pass the " kiddie scriptor " mark as we used to say in the old yahoo chat rooms, so i highly doubt im gonna be able to make a package build lol

might be in the Debian systemd base though

      peppermint os Devuan base:
xcom2 works on native so that is cool

To find this in the Debian Base Peppermint OS i had to add unstable repo in synaptic package manager..... just so others know for current reference
