print issue (SOLVED)

Very happy with peppermint except that I can't get my printer to work... Brother HL-1212w;
Any ideas somebody?

Hi and Welcome !
I don't have one of these to try out

But it does look like the printer is supported with the brlaser driver from Debian.
This series of printers is listed here :
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/printer-driver-brlaser

To get this printer working might be as easy as opening a terminal and typing these commands with your password for sudo access.

sudo apt update && sudo apt install brlaser

Then reopen the printer manager application to see if it found your printer or to try manually searching for it .

I downloaded the driver
then I typed the commands
and got the message that it could't find brlaser...
What to do now...

My apologies, I shortened the name of the package needed for install.
Instead of the name of the driver being brlaser it is printer-driver-brlaser .
The commands I provided should have been

sudo apt update && sudo apt install printer-driver-brlaser

That should be more successful than what I'd initially offered.
Like I said , by not owning this model I I'm not sure if this is a better approach than installing it through the support website given below.
Occasionally I've ran into instances where some distros are unrecognized or they can be identified incorrectly.
