General FAQ

Peace?
Peace is an abbreviation for Peter's Equalizer APO Configuration Extension.

So Peace, mmmm...
Okay, big word for a small program, I agree. But Peace is needed, isn't it?

And who is Peter?
My name is Peter Verbeek. I'm a software programmer and like to build games, but I make also tools like Peace. I'm using GameMaker, Unity with C#, AutoIt and Visual Studio C#.

What is Equalizer APO?
Equalizer APO is a Windows program/driver made by Jonas Thedering, which enables you to filter your audio output.

Why use Equalizer APO?
It's capable of shaping your audio sound system wide in extensive ways. Peace offers these ways in a graphical user interface.

Peace / Equalizer APO has stopped working.
Microsoft is constantly updating Windows 10 and 11 and sometimes the audio system has been tinkered with too. If so, Equalizer APO may stop working and you have to re-install it or at least startup its Configuration Editor for automatic repair. Before doing a re-installltion it's good practice to back up your configurations (presets) by copying the .peace files contained in the Equalizer APO config folder (where Peace resides). Backing up is easily done by using the "Back up and Restore" tab of the Peace settings window. You may also use the Peace Setup Tool.

Peace / Equalizer APO doesn't work at all.
