By coincidence, I've just uploaded an update to 3.72.1pre that addresses this very issue, plus another as described in the release notes.
Ok. Great!
Thank you.
Hi Rony,
I'm testing the updated 3.72.1pre. Word wrap is working again. Yay!
I'll report a couple of other findings later today or tomorrow.
Hi Rony,
Here are some pictures with a brief description of what I'm seeing with the updated 3.72.1pre. Mainly some old display issues I've seen before reappearing. I tested on two different laptops.
Laptop 1 is a HD screen (1920x1080) Windows laptop with the Windows scale at the recommended set by Windows of 125%. Laptop 2 is a High DPI screen (2560 x 1440) with the Windows scale at the recommended set by Windows of 200%.
Pic_A, Pic_B, and Pic_C are from Laptop 1 while Pic_1, Pic_2 and Pic_3 are from Laptop 2.
First a question that is possibly related to an issue. Pic_A and Pic_1 are of the Master Password Entry screen on each laptop. The master password screen shows the screen capture icon that screen capture protection is on. After I enter the correct password and the safe opens, the icon at the bottom of the password safe window shows that the screen capture protection is off! I am not able to screen capture the Master Password Entry screen, but after the safe is open, I can screen capture the application window and also the change password screen while. So, I'm not sure if not being able to turn off screen capture on the initial master password entry screen is a feature or a bug? I thought if screen capture was turned off on the Security tab in Options that it would also be off for the Master Password entry screen.
Potential Issue 1: If you compare Pic_1 to Pic_A, the master password entry text on the High DPI screen laptop is tiny. My configuration of fonts in pwsafe.cfg on both laptops is the same. I believe this might be an issue of the Master Password entry not using the Password font/size configured in the pwsafe.cfg file.
Potential Issue 2: On both laptops Password Safe is configured to show the dragbar. After I enter the correct password and the safe opens, there is sometimes a display glitch on both Laptop 1 and Laptop 2 where (compare Pic_2 and Pic B) i) the dragbar and the maintool bar overlap and ii) The status area at the bottom of the application window doesn't show anything. I can fix it by doing a Ctrl-F (showing the find Toolbar) and it clears up both issues as shown in Pic_3 and Pic_C. Also in Pic_3 on the High DPI Laptop you can see where I typed text into Find text box and it's not tiny as seen in the Master Password entry dialog because the font I have configured for my Add/Edit font is being used once the safe opens.
Regarding screen capture:
Since the "Exclude from screen capture" preference is stored in the database, turning it off (non-default) can only take effect after the database is open.
To turn it off entirely, that is, also for the master password entry window, you need to turn it off in the installation options. This changes a registry key that's read before a database is open.
The other issues are related to incorrect handling of Windows display scaling. Working on it...
Wow, it's more nuanced that I knew.
I didn't realize that Exclude from screen capture is stored in the database, but I should have figured it out since I search the pwsafe.cfg file for it and couldn't find anything related to screen capture. Since it's a database stored config, I also figured if I open the safe R/W, it would be in blue text in Options. However in the updated 3.72.1pre it's not showing in blue text like other database stored settings.
Hi Rony
Here is another minor issue I am seeing with with the updated v3.72.1pre. Not sure if this behavior predates the v3.72.x versions.
Steps to reproduce.
Initial Condition: Show Notes in Edit is not checked on the Display tab in Options
Thanks.
