(I am going to crosspost this to the panotoolsNG) Yili> Hi, are there some web resources to describe the different Yili> kinds of projections which panotools used (like the Yili> cylindrical, cubic and equirectangular projections etc.)? Yili> Thanks! The program panoinfo tells you which projections are supported. The wiki is a good source of data: http://wiki.panotools.org/Projections I think the wikipedia does a good job of describing most of them, although they are not specific to photographs: The projections currently supported by panotools are: PanoType0: Rectilinear (any typical lens is rectilinear) PanoType1: Cylindrical http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_projection#Cylindrical PanoType2: Equirectangular Known as plate carre': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plate_carr%C3%A9e_projection PanoType3: Full Frame -- fish eye. I am not sure what type of map projection this is. Known as a equisolid projection. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisheye_lens PanoType4: Stereographic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereographic_projection PanoType5: Mercator http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercator_projection PanoType6: Transverse mercator http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transverse_Mercator_projection PanoType7: Sinusoidal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinusoidal_projection Yili> Hi, are there some web resources to describe the different kinds of Yili> projections which panotools used (like the cylindrical, cubic and Yili> equirectangular projections etc.)?
