Yes, Corey and I and several other open-source IPMI folks have started
talking about synergies. I'd like to see him include more of my code with
the driver, but we may want to wait until the next cut.
BTW, I added the fruconfig utility based on your request. It does set the
asset tag, so you can use it for uniquely identifying systems in a cluster.

One suggestion... Have you and Corey discussed somehow merging your
BMC panic handler driver code somehow? You said your's has some added
functionality that his is lacking. I would hate to see the kernel "gods"
who make decisions about what gets merged into the kernel have to pick
one over the other just because there are two patches.
It might also be beneficial to include some info in your README with the
panicsel stuff to talk about what kernel options to choose in the case
where Corey's IPMI driver code is being used instead of the Intel IMB
or San's kcs drivers. The choice of which BMC panic handler option to
choose is confusing so additional clarification would be helpful.
