I have also tested with Corey's driver (including the imb emulation), and
found that it performed well, so far.  There were a few build/config issues
in the older driver version I tried that are probably resolved by now.

Just in case you didn't know your various panicsel utilities
(showsel and sensor) seem to work just fine with Corey's driver.
I wasn't sure you knew that since it wasn't listed in the UserGuide
or README as a working configuration.

Also on the STL2 board I have panicsel correctly indicates that
the system does not support PEF records since the board only
implements IPMI 1.0 and BMC 1.14 versions.
