Same trouble. OS Ubuntu 12.04 gnome. Iam upgrade pac from version 4.5.3.7.2.
But if delete config files /home/user/.config/pac, then version 4.5.3.8.1 starting normally.

The tray icon works ok, but nothing is displayed in the Main window. I am using Kubuntu 13.10.
