This is a very rudimentary perl tool that will allow
extraction of the files stored in owl database. It is
very usefull if you want to drop database file support
in favor of the filesystem support owl offers. Don't
blame but it's usable at least now and will be updated
in the future. I tested it with Owl 0.73 and used the
Initial Load feature in Owl 0.8 to load the database
from filesystem.
Features:
-extracts file data from database
-creates customised backup folder and moves the old
versions there (for compatibility with Owl 0.9)
Steps to use:
Edit the script and modify init variables with your Owl
database connect info.
Future thoughts:
If there is a great request or the project devs will
find it usefull I will port this to php.
Support for other databases. Now it will work only by
using an MySql Server.
Future polishing of the script will be done like adding
a progress bar, a debug mode etc. (Remember this is
done at this point just to work and do the job which it
did for me.)
Didn't test it on an owl 0.8 or 0.9 with mysql database
support.
