#1639 Sync Errors

Hello,
I had been using 3.8 for quite a long time with most recent Outlook 365 and it had worked out so far, but now I get an error each and every time I try to sync. Same error occured with 4.0 and 4.1 even though connection tests says OK / successfull

If the browser starts and googles asks for permission for outlookcaldavsync I agree ...

I also had uninstalled it and reinstalled. the first sync seems to run smoothly cause the contacts in outlook will be filled again.

What is going wrong and what setting do I have to change to get rid off the sync errors ?

Ya, I am having same issue with my Gmail Contacts. Started happening a few days ago. Even did a oauth authorize again and it still is giving the error.

Google.GData.Client.GDataRequestException: Execution of request failed: https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/groups/default/full ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

I have had what appears to be exactly the same issue for some time - the error messages are now daily and their frequency is increasing. It is becoming more than just an annoyance as I cannot be certain that synchronization has been successful.

I started having the same issue about a week ago. Calendar syncs fine. About 2/3 of contact syncs fail.

Google returns random Errors, to force the consumers to switch to the new API and will increase the error rate until the end of year reaches finally 100%.

We well try to switch before and swallow those errors until migrated...

Note: as a workaround, if like me, your contacts usually need to be sync less frequently than calendars:
- disable the contacts sync profile (uncheck it in profiles) to disable the error popup
- sync contacts manually from time to time, by hammering a repeated sync. Currently, Google server will let pass about 1/4 successive sync attempts

I still have the same problem a few month and there is no any updates.

I switched to a program (from sourceforge) called GOContactSyncMod. Works well with no issues.

I'm sorry it will still take some time until we switched to the new Google API, since we are just working on OCDS in our spare time and we both have a full time Job and a lot of other things to do.

Unfortunately I can't make any predictions, when it will be finished, so it is a good idea to switch to GoogleSyncMod, since it works already with the new Google API.

I posted the details to use carddav, which works perfectly with google while you work this out:

Also, GOContactSyncMod has nothing to do with your app OCDS which supports more than just google, but a plethora of other services, include baikal, generic caldav...
