Attempt at answers. Short answer for all topics - Prioritys. I need to have some items done before I can even think about others. >OSRAIDS first run after install: >after the initial config.file is written this is displayed: > Config File created > See Below for database functions am in the process of updating this.... lots of work >but there is nothing below of any kind. ? I know, sorry >When i set up and add data like I am at a job or something I come across things: >Add product dialog: >there are to few dataentries for this to be useful, at least for me. >missing: > -product number > -the price that I pay for the unit ( i dont know the english term for this) > -a place to edit the categories, perhaps in the /config section > -a place to mass-import units from some regular fileformat. > -name and model are a bit of an overlap, i think. Will look at these > -the deletebutton should go away. Deletion of salesobjects can be done in >config perhaps? deletion will go away on all sections soon. Items and reports will exist forever but just become inactive or voided for good accountability. >Also it seems to me that the principles or the "hierarchy" through wich one >processes the workorder from request to invoice contains too many possibilities >of user mistakes. And it does not have a specific order in wich things are done. Understood. I need to finish the process documents. I spend most of my time in the contacts menu getting phone numbers first and then deciding to make a wr or an ar. > There should in my opinion not be so many possibilities along the way. >The logic would seem better to me if: >At login i can click on customers and get them listed. I click on one of them. >When their "card" appears i do not want to edit, so i should get a summary box >in top of the screen instead, with no chance of editing anything as far as the >customer goes. Below i would like to see what open servicejobs i have going for >that customer, and at this place it would be nice to have the mentioned file-list >and uploadbutton as well. Any finished invoices should also be listed as such. (It >is as far as i know literally illegal to change an invoice that has been issued to the >customer, so they have to be locked down somehow.) Several points here - using the edit screen to look at a contact is handy to correct errors if you see them, I do agree with you on this, but having used this system for the last year I have found the edit menu is where I want to see the contact info. - in the photo I sent you I have the WR listed on the front page in order of priority. - I am working on the file upload thing, it is easy but needs to be optional. I have request for installs without the authentication so I am looking at options to control its look and operation. - invoices, and ARs "should" not change. I don't have the invoices saved because they are based off of the ARs. If you need to adjust an AR that was wrong then the invoice can change dynamicly. there is a new double ledger system in the works that two CPAs are helping me with. >Suggestion, think of this as the screen: > Customer name > adresses, mail, > phones, etc. > Nice box around it, maybe a notes section to write things >down when youre on the phone with the. > Work > Work in progress Files Invoices Request > Behind this:timesheets upload > > Something like this. its just a suggestion. It works well with other CRM-type >apps that i have used and makes a tidy way in to the logistics that this thing is >ment to handle. >Questions: >What is the intended difference between activity report and timesheet? >Can one sum up various timesheets to one invoice? an AR is for any action performed, a timesheet is a summary of AR labor values, a WR is for request items only. The I18N is allowing me to fix a lot of word choices in the system that may change how users look at OSRAIDS. Thank you for your ideas. I am working on a lot of things and will get them done soon. I have users from across the world and with different ideas for operation. I am sticking to a simple 3 point system at the moment (WR, AR, and if the ARs are right the accounting is done.). I will be adding additional Statuses to the WR and AR sections with better direction. I am also playing with the Sales Tickets so that I can get rid of the expense and other in the AR. More as I finish it..... Andrew On Thu, 28 Oct 2004 23:59:05 +0200, Tellef Haugen <ma...@te...> wrote: > I hope I am not bugging you with my attachment.
