My Oscar2 is the version I installed. It works relatively well with Oscar 12, but: It does not even come close to the hype and expectations I experienced. There is little or no documentation. There is no longer any development. It has been totally redesigned, so that Oscar3 will require multiple servers and is not realistic for an independent clinic. Bottom line: They want your patients to enroll in a province-wide installation that would be run by not-you. I understand the rational. The argument is that a patient going to another Oscar clinic would have to setup a new MyOscar account which would not have any of the other MyOscar information. I think this reflects a difference in thinking between academics and non-academics (for lack of a better description). The non-academic clinics, which are my clients, just want a tool that will facilitate patient communications and allow safe access to their medical information online. Some want an online booking tool (which I could never get to work... and is no longer required by my client). They are not looking past the boundaries of their own clinics. Another problem is the way that relationships are setup. In MyOscar2 you need to setup individual relationships between provider and patient. In my case, nurse and patient. If patient care is handled by a team, then each person has to be setup.
