Minor patch needed to get gdal to build on my system, attached.

I also have successfully built gpsdrive from current cvs, albeit with a 
few hacks; mostly I haven't figured out a graceful way to set 
gdal-config to the right place, and for some reason the src/mysql 
subdirectory got left out of CVS, so you have to copy that over from an 
older release.

Ir requires a lot of newer versions, but most of those are trivial fixes 
to bb files.
