Configuration for syncml-obex-client is:

As mentioned it doesnt work properly with calendar. I managed now to
sync an empty calendar and even add new entry so i guess it must be
related to some encoding issues. Will investigate that.

Please make sure that you also use the latest version of OpenSync. It seems=
=20
that you use an older version of the OpenSync (0.19 for example) with the=20
latest version of the syncml plugin (SVN or 0.20).

are you able to use evo2-sync to sync the calendar? I tried to sync evo2
to my nokia n80 (obex-client) which works fine for addressbook. But
adding calendar doesnt work. It reads changes and then

Hi,
I'm following the tutorial below:
http://www.opensync.org/wiki/syncml-guide

I have the following list of plugins:

msynctool --listplugins

Available plugins:
kdepim-sync
syncml-http-server
syncml-obex-client
irmc-sync
evo2-sync
file-sync

Then I try to add syncml-obex-client as member. Here's
where the problem occurs:

[syncml-plugin]$ msynctool --addmember filesyncml
syncml-obex-client
Unable to instance plugin with name
syncml-obex-client: Could not find format "memo"

Any ideas ?

I syncronize Palm with Evolution using
msynctool
This is msynctool version "0.20"
using OpenSync version "0.20"


libopensync ver. 0.20-3.1
libopensync-plugin-evolution2 ver. 0.20-2.2
libopensync-plugin-palm ver. 0.20-2.1


I have an event repeated from october 1. until december 1. - every day at  
10am. In Palm all looks nice.
After syncronizing in Evolution the events from october 1. until october  
28. are at 10am. BUT the events from  october 29. until december 1. the  
all events are at 9 am.

All other non repeatet events are syncronized ok.

Did you already try to sync with the command line tool "syncml-obex-client"?
It is provided by the libsyncml pacakge.

Could you try this:

syncml-obex-client -b 00:17:4B:43:C9:D4 11 --slow-sync text/x-vcard=20
Contacts --wbxml --identifier "PC Suite"

The phone and laptop are paired and communicating via Bluetooth 
successfully. A Sync profile with the name "evo2obex" has been set up on 
the phone, and set as the default sync profile. When syncml-obex-client 
connects, the phone responds correctly, and initialises a sync. Less 
than a second later, however, it shows the message "Sync incompl." and 
the sync aborts.

If I have missed anything obvious in the config, or if anyone has any 
other suggestions, I would be most grateful.

Arg.. this means it  is not related to the vcal converter.

Can you try to reproduce this in the same way how you got this errors.
But enable this time OSYNC_TRACE and SYNCML_TRACE:

export OSYNC_TRACE=3D/tmp/osync_trace/
export SYNCML_TRACE=3D/tmp/syncml_trace/
mkdir $OSYNC_TRACE $SYNCML_TRACE

msynctool --sync yourgroup

Then take a look in the trace file in /tmp/osync_trace/=20
or/and /tmp/syncml_trace/

In the case you store senstivie information in your calendar:
export OSYNC_PRIVACY=3D1

This should hide the sensitive content in the trace files. Hopefully the=20
problem is not related to the content :)

This happens often when the xml to vcal converter create a invalid vcal=20
format. This means there is a field in the converted vcal included which th=
e=20

Can you try if you also get errors when using the command line=20
function "syncml-obex-client" and do a "read only" sync:

If this worked then try to commit a simple calendar entry with this command=

line:

You have to create a test.vcal before running this line. Start with somethi=

Hopefully this simple vcal should work. The next step will to check a=20
vcalendar entry from  evolution which got synced with OpenSync. Evolution=20
only stores calendar entries in icalendar. So we have to setup a evolution =
to=20
file sync-group which convert and sync the evolution entries in a directory=
=20
as vcalendar.

msynctool --addgroup evo2file
msynctool --addmember evo2file evo2-sync
msynctool --addmember evo2file file-sync
msynctool --configure evo2file 1
# configure as in your syncml to evolution group
msynctool --configure evo2file 2
# only change the <path></path>
msynctool --sync evo2file

Then pick one and copy it to /tmp/test.vcal and run the syncml-obex-client =
add=20
command line from above. Let us know if you found a problematic calendar=20
entry.

Yaay! Great work everyone!

I decided to try the .deb's available, but it's still not possible to 
sync my evolution calendar with my nokia phone using syncml-obex-client.
Contacts seem to be working perfectly tho, couldn't find any glitch there.

When syncing the calendar, i get dozens of Error 500's, if there's any 
way i can help solving this, let me know, i can do tests.

libsyncml 0.4.2 is ready. The new release includes serveral bugfixes for th=
e=20
SyncML and OBEX implementation:

* Fixed handling of MaxMsgSize in different fragments
* Avoid crash of OBEX stack in mobile phones when transport error
  is recieved and libsyncml forgot to send OBEX Disconnect signal
* Fixed serveral bugs in the XML paraser
* Added noStringTable option for syncml-http-server
* Manpages for syncml-http-server and syncml-obex-client

This changes should also bring the Nokia 6230* series to sync. The Nokia 62=
30*=20
series (and other mobile phones) requires to close every open menu or=20
application while synchronisation. Otherwise you will recieve on connection:
"Request not successful: 67"

Christopher Stender discovered that the calendar database on some Sony=20
Erricson mobile phone is "agenda". If you got problems with syncing events,=
=20
try "AGENDA". Some Sony Erricson also seems to have a fourth database for=20
todos called "TASKS". (This is not yet implemented in the syncml-plugin of=
=20
OpenSync)

there is only trac at the moment, I am not the administrator of the OpenSyn=

Could you *please* put the releases of 0.20+1 in a directory instead of attaching it to
the wiki page? I'm getting a bit annoyed that I have to download libopensync, msynctool,
multisync and all the plugins manually and mirror them on a webserver so that our
buildsystem can use wget without the ?format=raw appended?

[Opensync-users] conflict resolution

     I am using opensync (kitchensync) 0.19 to sync
kdepim with my w810i.  Initial, everything works fine.
 But once there are conflicting data, the conflict
resolution dialog popped up with NO data filled in. 
Is it just me or someone else have the same problem?

This was a problem with one event that libexpat failed to parse. Once I 
deleted it, the errors disappeared and synchronization succeeded. It probably 
had something to do with a messed-up UTF-8 encoding.
