-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 libwbxml 0.10.4 release notes Download: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=245783 Major Changes ============= - Fixed the byte order of the WV datetime opaque encoding (the bytes were written in the reversed order) - Fixed the time zone byte handling in the WV datetime opaque encoding (e.g. A means UTC+1, Z must be 0x5a) (ticket #30) - Added correct timezone handling for WV datetime opaque parser - Added support for WV datetime inline encoding. All timestamps which use the full ISO style like 2001-09-12T13:09:12+02:00 are encoded as inline strings. This style is strongly recommended because time zones like UTC+09:30 of Darwin in Australia are supported too. (ticket #30) Internal Changes ================ - Added support for an EXPECTED value to the XML normalization script Best regards Michael -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFJtQ+T2L0ZGCAwWqsRAtX8AJ9TMdrpguUBPCRGGkp7WtacvQuYOACguwag 4kGEtn72y/iuKUhimZDMcMc= =D2Ao -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hello, I have always had success syncing my SE K750i with KDE PIM (KDE 3.5.10 atm) on my gentoo setup, but haven't used opensync in a while. When I tried yesterday, the following problem came up: I manually start the sync (either through KitchenSync or msynctool), having exited Kontact and KAddressbook of course, the two apps immediately start themselve and of course syncing fails. See log: $ msynctool --sync k750i Synchronizing group "K750i" Member 2 of type kdepim-sync had an error while connecting: Kontact is running. Please finish it Member 1 of type irmc-sync had an error while connecting: Request failed All clients have disconnected The sync failed: Unable to connect one of the members Error while synchronizing: Unable to connect one of the members I have never seen behaviour like this in KDE before, and don't know where to start looking. Can anyone help me out? No matter what i do, Kontact always automatically starts at beginning of sync. I am currently using Opensync 0.22, but have tried and failed with 0.36 as well (same symptoms). -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/kdepim---kontact-starting-unwantedly-tp22363314p22363314.html Sent from the Opensync - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Hello list! Does anyone know where to find documentation on how to configure syncml-obex-client.conf to use a usb connection? The template that you got when defining the connection is just for bluetooth. I have installed version 0.38 I have got it working with bluetooth but want usb for another computer that has no bluetooth. Best Regards, Lars |

Hello. I found the OpenSync quite interesting, but I found some formats are still not supported for it. One of them is the format of Remind, an UNIX tool with many years of development (1990 I think). It's still used actually by some people because it's still quite powerful (scriptable, easy to mix it with cron...) and can run in daemon mode (so alarms will work even if apps are closed). http://www.roaringpenguin.com/penguin/open_source_remind.php (official site) http://wiki.43folders.com/index.php/Remind http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3529 I added it in the devel/peerFeasibility wiki page from Trac, with links to some converters for reference. Maybe it's already supported, but I can't find a proper reference due to the documentation of supported devices/protocols/formats seems incomplete. I would like to help on it, but the Trac wiki systems seems too bad and I think it could be nice if changed by something better. If it's not supported, please consider adding support for this format. I asked about this on the irc channel, but no reply so I ask here. Regards. |

libwbxml 0.10.2 release notes Download: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=245783 Major Changes ============= - Added support for OMA DM DDF 1.2 (ticket #7). - DRMREL 1.0 test cases were disabled because of the poor specification (e.g. hard coded names for XML namespaces and definition of such namespaces as (WB)XML attributes). - The generated XML documents of the most tests (conversion from XML to WBXML back to XML) are compared with the original documents. Only special tests are not covered (e.g. hexadecimal number conversion, SyncML CDATA usage). Minor Changes ============= - If there is no PUBLIC ID then DOCTYPE must include PUBLIC "" or SYSTEM. libwbxml always adds SYSTEM in this case. - Fixed datetime support for Wireless Village (ticket #27). - Extension tokens must not be replaced within normal text data (ticket #26). - Ticket #13 was rejected because the mentioned specification is only a today outdated OMA change request. Perhaps a new specification must be implemented in case of a new request. Internal Changes ================ - Created a script to normalize XML documents. - The getopt implementation was replaced because of a potential license issue. This fixed a Solaris build issue too (ticket #25). Best regards Michael |

Hello, I am using kubuntu 8.04, i.e. these versions: ii libsyncml-utils 0.4.5-1 SyncML protocol library utilities ii libsyncml0 0.4.5-1 SyncML protocol library rc multisync 0.82-8build1 A program to synchronize PIM data ii multisync-tools 0.91.0-4.1ubuntu1 PIM Synchronization Command Line Tools ii opensync-plugin-kdepim 0.22-3 KDE plugin for opensync ii opensync-plugin-syncml 0.22-2 Opensync SyncML plugin ii opensyncutils 0.22-2 Command line utilities for libopensync with an Nokia E61. The syncgroup is made up of syncml-obex-client and kdepim-sync. The obex config looks like this <config> <username></username> <password></password> <type>2</type> <bluetooth_address>00:12:D1:A7:63:18</bluetooth_address> <bluetooth_channel>10</bluetooth_channel> <interface>0</interface> <version>1</version> <identifier>PC Suite</identifier> <wbxml>1</wbxml> <recvLimit>1</recvLimit> <maxObjSize>1</maxObjSize> <usestringtable>0</usestringtable> <onlyreplace>0</onlyreplace> <contact_db>Contacts</contact_db> <calendar_db>Calendar</calendar_db> <note_db>Notes</note_db> </config> Syncing is working somehow. I say somehow, because I happen to get double calender entries on the mobile. The msynctool tells me, that the syncing was unclean and he will do a slowsync. Each time a sync, I get a new duplication of an existing entry. In the kde kalender the entries are not doubled. Any idea? Hi I have a skypephone s2 from the UK. It appears to have some sort of propriety sync software for windows only, so is pretty useless for me. The phone runs on the brew platform, but im not sure what it uses for syncing. I did find a j2me sync program which works over blue-tooth, it even has an opensync plugin, but that didnt work, probably because the developer has only tested it on a motorola phone. Does anyone know of any (free) j3me programs that support syncml over blue- tooth? Or failing that, any other suggestions? Cheers Adam |

Hello list, I am trying to sync my T630 with syncml-obex-client tool (the final goal being to use the opensync-syncml plugin), without success up to now. Following (mainly) this page [http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSync/SyncML-OBEX-Client], I tried to list the available services on the phone. $sdptool browse 00:0F:DE:6F:42:A7 The result is in the file sdptool-browse.log, hereby attached. There seems to be no SyncML service reported, unless it is called something different? However, I have found reports that my phone implements SyncML. This thread reports that T630 works with SyncML via BT: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/message/92200. I don't know much in bt and syncml protocol and such things, but I am wondering if this thread could be of interest: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=44303. It talks about some bt profile possibly existing but being not public on some phones. I am thus wondering if my phone could possibly have a SyncML bt service (profile?) and not advertise it. The thread also talks about mapping a bt serial port to the syncml service (this is beyond my understanding). I tried anyway to use syncml but to no avail (not surprising I guess). With the following command (immediately after a phone reboot), it gives the following error message. (Same with channels 11, 15, 7.) $syncml-obex-client --slow-sync "text/x-vcard" contacts -b 00:0F:DE:6F:42:A7 10 connection with device succeeded Received an transport error: Not found (0x44) The log reported from "hcidump -w syncml.log" running during the sync is attached. I didn't found official complete reference docs about T630, only the user manual which lists SyncMl in the copyright list (and only there). In the phone menu, one entry is about remote synchronisation, where I can configure which server to sync with (it asks for a login and a url), and what to sync (contacts, meetings, tasks, where I can enter, for each of them, username and db and db MdP informations), and which WAP/GPRS profile to use to connect. I guess this might be SyncML over HTTP. If you know how to make this work with my computer, I'd also be interested. I don't have and don't want to pay for a WAP/GPRS data profile / access with my mobile operator (after all, I need to sync only when I am in front on my computer, I don't *need* an internet access to do that). Could I somehow connect my phone to the internet using some bt profile, then sync it using SyncML over HTTP? Finally, I know (or I hope) I could use IrMC sync, also with opensync, as a last resort. But as I intend to use SyncML for some other (more recent) devices (and as I am curious), I would have liked to make the sync work with this more modern protocol if possible. Thank you for your help. A akondai plugin for OpenSync 0.40 is in development: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdepim/akonadi/opensync/ OpenSync 0.40 is not yet released. We're still in a very experimental development-cycle - called 0.3x. It's not yet useful for any productive synchronization. Thanks for your patience in the meantime, Daniel |

Syncing OpenMoko depends on the image you have running on your device. Few weeks ago a first alpha version of qtopia4-sync got released. Which works with qtopia based firmwares. A format-plugin is still missing ... (there is already some progress - it's planned to use XSLTFormat-plugin to convert between OpenSync's XMLFormat and Qtopia's XML) > > Currently, I've got libopensync 0.36-6.fc11 and > libopensync-plugin-kdepim 0.36-1.fc10 > available, but can compile from svn, no prob. > I have akonadi-1.1.0-1.fc11.i386 and kdelibs-4.1.96-7.fc11.i386. Not quite sure about the akondai-sync dependencies. But OpenSync 0.36 is useless. And /trunk is maybe to "hot" for real-life testing. By "hot" i mean: https://www.ohloh.net/p/compare_chart?metric=Activity&project_0=OpenSync So you might get a hard time to get OpenSync and all the plugins building at the same time. Maybe you wait until 0.39 got released, which is kind of a RC for 0.40 (first stable release after the 0.3x development cycle). best regards, Daniel |

I'm running Fedora Rawhide (bleeding edge), and would be happy to test opensync with akonadi. I've got an old Sony Ericsson T610, and a FIC Freerunner (OpenMoko). Please let me know how I can contribute in *testing* this. Currently, I've got libopensync 0.36-6.fc11 and libopensync-plugin-kdepim 0.36-1.fc10 available, but can compile from svn, no prob. I have akonadi-1.1.0-1.fc11.i386 and kdelibs-4.1.96-7.fc11.i386. best, MartinG |

Hi, this is my first mail to this mailing-list. Just a question: Does andybody have some current information about opensync plugins and akonadi? Without syncing my mobile with kontact KDE4 is quite useless for me. Thanx in advance for any informations.
