Hello,

Since upgrading to OpenSong v2.1.2, when I open the Scripture Lookup box and try to search the Bible for a keyword, I get an error saying "No search index available. Select a different translation or restart OpenSong." This was a very useful feature in the previous version -- how can I restore functionality?

Thanks

OpenSong did not remove or change the functionality.

You might want to check where OpenSong is installed. It could be that the installation location (e.g. because of changed Windows defaults), now no longer allows the user that you use OpenSong with, to change files in the 'OpenSong Scripture' directory. This is required in order to create an index.

FYI: In the next release of OpenSong, it will be possible to store the Scriptures in the OpenSong Documents folder; that folder is typically writable, which will resolve this problem for future uses.

Each time I would start OpenSong, I would get a message asking if I wanted to generate index file for KJV. Saying yes accomplished nothing.

After simply running OpenSong as Administrator, it actually created the index file needed and now the search functions correctly. Guess I should've attempted that first. Thanks for responding.

That indeed is how this currently works when using Windows and installing OpenSong as Administrator (or with elevated priviledges). Running as Admin only needs to happen once; after the index is there, any user can make use of it.

Thank you all! Running as Admin once works!
