Translation

The translation of all text resources is done in the text_xy.properties files. These files are encoded in UTF-8.
To figure out which messages have changed run ch.sahits.game.openpatrician.utility.app.finder.TranslationDeltaFinder with the following parameter:

1. Language for which the delta should be calculated (i.e. de, es, fr)
2. Absolute path to the output folder, were the zip file containing the data is stored.
3. Optionally a revision number which is taken as a base for the translation. This is especially useful, when the original translation were not committed to the repository.

As the second parameter suggest, this will create a zip archive containing various files to help in the translation:

• Readme detailing the various tasks
• text translation file with the entries that need attention grouped at the top
• for other resources there are various diff files. For those the translator has to decide if they need to be updated.

Furthermore there is are the resources_xy.properties bundle files. These files contain references to further text input files or potentially other stuff that is localiced. That means everything linked in there must also be translated.

There is also another utility for formatting the translated text resources acording to text.properties:
