The following configure option explanation seems a bit strange.

  --with-ftd2xx-lib       Use static or shared ftd2xx libs on default static

Maybe it should be changed to the following. But I have never used this option.

  --with-ftd2xx-lib       Use static or shared ftd2xx libs, default static
