Thanks Benjamin, 1- I sure will get the the newer version either 1.6.2 stable or the 1.6 testing 2- I looked for the .m2 directory and the only folders/references to Maven are as follows: - /root/Desktop/src/eclipse/maven/bin/m2 - /root/m2_repo (it's hidden) ---> I recall creating this when i get to the step in the manual where it instruc to create a variable in eclipse software: "Add a classpath variable called M2_REPO and set its value to <your home dir>/.m2/repository. (Note: eclipse does not accept the '~' character) " The ~/.m2/repository doesn't event exist on my machine...it's weird...sue, let me get the 1.6.2 and build that one but will running three build commands mentioned in the manual be sufficient or i'll have to manually create that .m2 directory?
