This is a continuation of the feature request #2888374, which is closed.
The new Apple slim aluminum keyboards don't have the INSERT key. Up to now openMSX, like many other apps, used the Apple's HELP key, but on the new keyboards the HELP key is gone and the new FN key can't be used for that.
So, a replacement key is needed and the solution must consider that the compact keyboard is by far the most available one, as it comes by default not only on iMacs, but it's layout is used also on the bluetooth keyboard and on the MacBooks. So the plentiful of extra keys the big keyboard have probably will not be a good replacement.
I believe the best candidate for a replacement INSERT key is the Mac F9 key. On the Windows version the F9 key is used as a shortcut to "throttle", but on the Macs the F9 key is free because the "throttle" feature is assigned to the Cmd+T shortcut. So this assignment will not cause any conflict between Mac and Windows versions of openMSX.
