Hi,

I would like to introduce myself my name is Marian Dolan, webmaster of Social SEO Master.

While working on a project for my partners website I've found cookbooks.opengrads.org
and I decided to contact you to tell you little bit more about what I do.

I'm a SEO expert with vast experience over the years in the SEO field
placing my partner's websites on Google's 1st results page for the
keywords they're after.

I would like to elaborate more and send you more information, to share
my thoughts, tips & tricks.

I could remove these restrictions but I am afraid they are there for a good
reason. Can you upload *.txt files?  If so, you could rename the file
something like script.sh.txt, and not in the text for the users to rename
the files removing the .txt. THis is not only a work around, but also a
procedure that make people aware that they are working with potentially
harmfull files.

Now, since your have developers privileges, you should be able to upload
files to the opengrads web aea at sourceforge. Instructions are here:

Notice that I do not use the sf.net web area for hosting the
opengrads.orghome page; instead a use a private host which also hosts
the wiki for both
the opengrads wiki and cokbooks wiki. However, you could place files there
for being linked from the wiki. This method, however, will not work for non
developers.

I myself have not upload any files in my recipes but instead asked people to
copy and paste from the wiki directly, something a bit awkward, I reckon. It
would be nice if the PHP extension we are using for syntax highliting, say

<fortran>
code...
</fortran>

would provide a button for people to download the code as well. Why don't
you make a request at their mailing list? (See Recipe-001 for the URL).
Since this involves PHP you are more qualified than I am for interacting
with them.

I was updating the recipe and uploading the files to the wiki and I
had a problem uploading .dat and .sh files. It says that both are
"unwanted file types". This sound like wiki configuration restriction.
Can you host them anywhere else?

First, upload the file. Click at the [Wiki] menu on the top left hand side
of the Cookbook page, then select "Upload Files". Click on [Browse] and
upload your file.  Your file will be upload as it were an Image. No problem,
you can always link to it with a regular URL, for example:

looks like:


Important: there is flat name space for files. So, always prefix your file
name with something unique. If you know the recipe number, use it:
"r013-stationdata.txt"
