Quite a nice thing, although for the hobbyist not really affordable. Would be great to have an option to buy the software and use it with own hardware.

With Kubuntu (I hate gnomes :) 16.04 it does not work right out of the repo, but I did not have time to dig deeper into it. With 14.04 the stuff does not compile, some libzmq5 and lib-something issue. The usual Linux sh*t when something new comes out.
