Workstation, should be 12 at the moment, but the earlier versions also worked. I am running a quite normal Kubuntu 14.04 LTS. Just take care not updating the kernel above 3.19.0-49 or so, at least with -51 he OS does not boot any more :) See http://askubuntu.com/questions/738083/ubuntu-14-04-4-lts-hangs-on-boot-after -latest-dist-upgrade-in-vmware Ralph.
