Hi Thomas, Even I was going through the similar problem as yours(Can't register MS on a fresh OpenBTS 5 install). In the trailing mail you wrote "Thanks a lot for all your helpful answers. It's working.", but you didn't mention what was the source of your problem and how you corrected it. With me, the problem is that the system is very unpredictable. For example, if I connect my mobile device to openbts network and it got connected successfully, I'm able to do echo SMS at 411. Now if I disconnect the mobile device, I'm not able to connect it again. Even after restarting the whole setup. Moreover, it's very rare that the mobile device gets connects to my openbts network in the first place. My setup is similar to yours, I'm also using Ubuntu 14.04 64bit, Openbts 5.0. I'm following Getting started with Openbts by Michael Ledema for installation of Openbts and other softwares, viz. asterisk, sipauthserve and smqueue. ** noise RSSI is -86 dB wrt full scale ** MS RSSI target is -50 dB wrt full scale ** current downlink power -10dB wrt full scale I'm using NI USRP2922 with two tri-band antennas that are sufficient enough for experimental purpose. Thank you.
