On my previous email I thought this problem has gone after changing the
band and ARFCN, but the network sometimes would be visible and able to
connect but will disconnected after a minute or so. And sometimes not
visible at all.
Anyway I live in New Zealand and I set openbts config to the following:
GSM.Radio.Band 1900
GSM.Radio.C0 761
I believe it's an unused one.
My antenna are small antenna 5cm long (sorry don't know whats the model
number)
Im testing this just in a small closed room.
Noise would range from -58-70
Rssi target -50, With rxgain 47
Thanks for any help
Regards,
Joe

Can you ensure that your frequency (your ARFCN) is free in your area? And
what about antennae and diplexer, what exactly are you using?

Hi Tom and all,
as a mentioned sometimes my openbts is visible sometimes doesn't. sometimes
it can connect.
rarely I was able to sendsms and sendsimple. so it's not so stable.
here's my OpenBTS outputs. as you can see I was able to connect one MS but
the noise went up in few secs and I can't sendsms or sendsimple to the MS.
thanks for any inputs.
cheers

What device are you running on?
Typically if the issue is seeing the network, as opposed to attaching
to the network, then frequency offset may be suspect. The frequency
offset issue is exasperated if there are other networks around versus
operating OpenBTS in isolation.
