I already have done this a time ago, with no effort. Behavior is still the same... Ralph. From: Syed Ibrahim Ghaznavi [mailto:ibr...@gm...] Sent: Saturday, September 28, 2013 11:18 AM To: Ralph A. I hope you can now solve the DNS related issue by editing /etc/resolv.conf and change the nameserver to 8.8.8.8 We are using Desire X android phones in our experimentation, and it worked for us. Yesterday I had connectivity with an old "dumb phone", some Nokia 6630 with a crippled browser. In the same session an android phone failed. In a new session the Nokia phone got connectivity to IP addresses, but no DNS resolution. In the third try nothing of this worked. I must find a way to log into the system with a real OS, not only with some stupid phones with their limited diagnosis capabilities. At the moment I can't reproduce what is happening, each try is different. Ralph. From: mu...@gm... [mailto:mu...@gm...] On Behalf Of Kurtis Heimerl Sent: Friday, 27 September, 2013 20:34 To: Ralph A. There's been a fix internally to the bind9 configuration to limit this, which I'll share once I have more free time. However, can you confirm that it is the DNS issue? Schmid, dk5ras <ra...@sc...> wrote: Hi, For some time I did not use OpenBTS so much, yesterday doing a svn up showed lots of changes, so I rebuilt everything, hoping GPRS may behave better now. Still no change, voice and SMS is just fine, the units receive an 192.168.something IP address, but when trying to surf a website it times out after a while or keeps trying forever. RF gain problem is unlikely, the air interface looks normal to me, access burst, then normal communication whether doing voice calls or trying IP connectivity. HW is my good old USRP1 with WBX. Still the DNS thing? Do other users here have stable IP connectivity using the latest OpenBTS build? Did this require some special tweaks, or did it "just work"? I will dig into this deeper for sure, try to find out what is happening. A guy who had looked at the IP setup of my Linux system told me it should be OK. It is just a bit annoying that my Huawei data stick does not connect at all, would be much simpler for me to narrow down the IP stuff if I had a Windows system (what is the world I am familiar with) instead of the crappy Android toy.
