So, one of my coworkers has a working instance of openBTS, and we took the usrp over to her desk to give it a try. She's running openBTS2.6 with libusrp 3.3. The usrp worked perfectly with her instance. Were able to connect phones, and send a text message all in the 900 band. So, it doesn't look like it's the hardware.
