Hi Nghia, I think you can find the information at the end of this document: gnuradio.org/redmine/attachments/139/OpenBTS_Guide_En_v0.1.pdf If you google "openbts instructions" this doc is the first result. -- Eli ________________________________ From: Nghia Phan <ngh...@gm...> To: David A. I’d like also to get the confirmation that the actual IMSI is only sent to OpenBTS the very 1st time and that only the TMSI is then used. Or is the IMSI still being sent (at least once) upon a identity request on subsequent camping? Thank you for your kind help Rgds Nghia De :David A. Objet : Re: [Openbts-discuss] Log of the very first registration The behavior of the system in the initial registration in 2.5 or 2.6 will depend on several configuration settings, so there is no single example to offer. What, specifically, are you looking for? I would recommend actually reading the code that controls this, in Control/MobilityManagement.cpp. And have a copy of GSM 04.08 handy for reference. But for the project I’m looking at I would need to validate some of the assumptions by looking at the real log of the very first registration of a new mobile onto OpenBTS. I think I read in various posts that all mobiles should be able to camp onto OpenBTS, but I’d like again to see a typical log of the 1st camping of a new mobile. Another thing I would like also to see is the typical time it takes to camp for a new mobile onto OpenBTS. I guess this depends on the mobile’s software and on the sequence in which the freq are searched (beyond the BA list). I also wonder if there is any way for a MNO to prevent its mobile from camping onto a specific network (eg OpenBTS)? David A. Burgess Kestrel Signal Processing, Inc. |
