I was trying to print/pdf-export a map with reduced opacity to allow me to easily draw corrections over it in the field (without using a separate sheet of mylar etc to draw on). I have set opacity for the map in the template manager to, say, 15%. This shows up just fine in the normal map display as well as in the print (or PDF export) preview. But the exported PDF document does not reflect this. Instead, the map is printed/exported with full opacity, exactly as if opacity was still set to 100%.

Toggling the "overprinting simulation" option in the print/export dialog doesn't change anything.

Should this work, i.e. is this a bug in the print/export feature?

If the map cannot be printed/exported with reduced opacity, then the preview shouldn't display map opacity either.

    Thanks
    Martin

    Hello Martin,

did you set the checkmark at 'Show templates' in the PDF export dialog?
I used the forest sample.xmap, and it worked (I set opacity to 15%).
The export as png does work as well.
Tested with Mapper version 0.5.93, I attach the exported map.

    Best regards,
    Matthias
