Category: Installation Group: v3.1 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Duplicate Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Wipes Path variable in windows xp Initial Comment: Hi, After installing ooRexx, I noticed that certain programs stopped working, when I checked the Path environment setting everything is wiped apart from the ooRexx one. I think this maybe a bug in the install, as other programs append to Path and do not overwrite it. I am hoping that a system restore will restore my old path settings as there were a number of settings for other programs in there. The version I installed is ooRex311.exe Windows XP SP2 I have not installed anything else since ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2007-12-28 13:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=191588 Originator: NO I've changed my opinion as to this bug. I'm going to close this bug as a duplicate of: [ 1859612 ] Windows installation overwritten PATH variable even though this bug was opened up first. This does not mean I don't consider this bug valid, I do. I just want to track every thing in one bug and have picked 1859612 as the bug to use. Please watch / and or post new comment to 1859612. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2007-10-02 13:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=191588 Originator: NO I am of the opinion that this is not a valid bug. I've installed 100s of times and never seen a problem with the path. Without the reporter supplying some way of reproducing it, I don't see that much can be done about it. And with only one report of this, it seems more likely to me that something unrelated to ooRexx was going on. I don't like arbitrarily closing a bug, but I have been tempted a number of times to close this one. Of course if Rick or David closed it, I'd be in full support of that. <grin> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Lee Peedin (pragmatic_lee) Date: 2007-10-02 13:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1223125 Originator: NO Has anyone been able to duplicate this? I've installed ooRexx no less than a dozen time in the last week with each Rev. of 3.2 and never had any damage done to my path. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2007-01-23 14:40 Message: Logged In: NO Has this been fixed yet? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=684730&aid=1632752&group_id=119701 |
