Micahel, For over 6 years, I've been writing all my Object REXX programs with this as the first lines: #!/usr/bin/rexx /* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -*\ File: doTask.rex Author: Mark Miesfeld . . . rest of comment On Windows the interpreter ignores the first line and the program runs fine. On Linux, AIX, and Solaris I set the executable bit for the program file and the program runs from the command line. Since Open Object REXX puts the binary in a different spot on Linux than Object REXX did, I've been setting up a symbolic link in /usr/bin. So, I guess you would need to convince someone to add the appropriate line to the rexxtry.rex in the distribution and make it executable to fulfill the second half of your desire. : My preference would be that the same decision be reflected in the rpm : at some point. -- Mark Miesfeld mie...@ac... |
