Rick may correct me but I think the main difference is that the Classic version of RexxUtil is coded in straight C and the Object version is coded in C++. The reason thay are not compatible is that the Object version uses internal method APIs that do not exist in the Classic version. This is mostly a guess as I have not actually seen the code for the Classic version, just what we got from IBM for the Object version, which was not complete from an OS/2 perspective. Thanks, W. Rick, when you developed Object Rexx on OS/2, do you happen to remember what caused for there to be an incompatibility between Classic and Object Rexx's RexxUtil.dll? The way it exists today, (MCP2 or eCS 1.2, etc...) they have the same function names in each, even the same version string in the DLL's. The size is radically different however. C is 68K and O is 41K. I find the fact that various people say the DLL's are not compatible with the Rexx they are not intended for rather surprising. Just wondering what background is known on this as ooRexxOS2 goes forward. Thanks!
