Adrian - I have no problem with discussions of an OS/2 version of ooRexx happening on this list. But here are some things to think about. 1. If your intention is to create a version of ooRexx that is specific to OS/2 and drops all the other platform stuff (ooDialog, etc), then I believe that a new SourceForge project may be the way to go. But you should realize that this will become a branch and eventually it will be very hard to maintain the common source files between the ooRexx and os2-ooRexx projects. Such is the nature of the beast. 2. Support for the os2-ooRexx project from the ooRex project team may become spotty at best as the source code differences between the two projects becomes more pronounced. 3. Using the existing ooRexx CVS source files and creating the specific support for OS/2 in those files will probably be pretty tough, but may pay off big dividends later when you need maintenance. 4. Having two ooRexx project at SourceForge will probably create some really bad publicity. To someone from the outside it may appear that there is strife amoung the ooRexx community. Unless they dug deeper they may come away with the wrong impression and that will be bad for the Rexx community any way you look at it. To prevent this sort of thing you will really need to be proactive. 5. And last, but certainly not least, there has been no consenses reached by RexxLA concerning support for a separate project. Certainly before you claim support from RexxLA for the project the RexxLA board needs to consider whether they really want to support such a project. And a wider vote of confidence for the project may be deemed necessary by RexxLA. This is all I could think of off the top of my head. These are my own opinions and I do not speak for RexxLA or the ooRexx team at large. And I certainly do not want to give you the impression that I think building an OS/2 version of ooRexx is a bad idea. On the contrary, I think that if the community wants an OS/2 version of ooRexx and is willing to supply the resources necessary to create one, then more power to you. I think the current ooRexx team will be willing to help in any way they can from an administrative and support perspective. Thanks, W.
