Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: pragmatic_lee (pragmatic_lee) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Erronious Error with 3.1.2 Initial Comment: The following simple script will produce an error with 3.1.2, but not with 3.1.1 /* test_start2.rex */ 'start "" "http://www.rexxla.org"' Error is as follows: The system cannot find the file http://www.rexxla.org. HOWEVER, the script will continue to run AND open the web page. This does NOT appear to happen if your browser is already open. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: pragmatic_lee (pragmatic_lee) Date: 2007-07-25 20:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1223125 Originator: YES Mark - command line makes no difference - see attached screen shot File Added: Clipboard01.jpg ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: pragmatic_lee (pragmatic_lee) Date: 2007-07-25 20:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1223125 Originator: YES 1st test system: WinXP ooRexx 3.1.2 default browser FireFox 2nd test system: WinXP ooRexx 3.1.1 default browser FireFox 3rd test system: WinXP ooRexx 3.1.2 default browser FireFox 4th test system: WinXP ooRexx 3.1.1 default browser IE 7 5th test system: Win2K ooRexx 3.0.0 default browser FireFox 6th test system: Win2K ooRexx 3.1.1 default browser IE 7.0 Error occurs on both systems with 3.1.2, but does not occur on any system running 3.1.1 or 3.0.0 I thought at first it was probably something on my system (1st test system), since it didn't happen on the 2nd system. But when I tried it on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th systems, the problem only occurred on systems with 3.1.2. Thus my conclusion that it's related to 3.1.2. Lee Will test more systems if necessary. Lee ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2007-07-25 20:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=191588 Originator: NO Lee, The other thing for you to try, is to just issue the command on the command line all by itself. C:\Work\IOP_1.6.440SPe\patch.example>type simple.rex /* test_start2.rex */ 'start "" "http://www.rexxla.org"' C:\Work\IOP_1.6.440SPe\patch.example>start "" "http://www.rexxla.org" C:\Work\IOP_1.6.440SPe\patch.example> In ooRexx the 'start "" "http://www.rexxla.org"' is going to get passed to the Windows Shell, so typing the command by itself on the command line should produce the same result. On my system when I type it in on the command line, IE starts up with RexxLA site and there is no error message. I suspect when you type it in on the system you have a problem with - you will see the same error message. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mark Miesfeld (miesfeld) Date: 2007-07-25 20:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=191588 Originator: NO Lee, I do not get any error message when I try your example on my system, with or without a browser window open. This seems more like something coming from the operating system. When you say you tried it with 3.1.1, were you on the exact same machine? Or is your 3.1.1 ooRexx on a different machine as your 3.1.2 ooRexx? The other thing is, I have IE 7 on the system I tried this. What Internet Explorer version do you have? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=684730&aid=1760566&group_id=119701 |
